  1. 1. Mitigation of supply chain uncertainties caused by material shortage : A case study with Loccioni

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och industriell teknik

    Author : Juliane Wloch; [2023]
    Keywords : Supply chain risk management; supply disruption management; semiconductor shortage; Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises;

    Abstract : The ongoing semiconductor shortage impacts organizations throughout the supply chain operationally and financially. Limited material for a sudden increase in demand during the Covid-19 pandemic led to a heightened supplier power and result in the prioritization of customers. READ MORE

  2. 2. Gate Drive Design for SiC MOSFET Device Characterization : Investigation into the impact of the gate inductance and resistance on the switching behaviour of SiC Power MOSFETs

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Elochukwu Mbah; [2023]
    Keywords : Silicon Carbide Power MOSFET; Gate Inductance; Gate Resistance; Miller Period; dv dt and di dt transients; Double Pulse Test; Kiselkarbid Power MOSFET; Gateinduktans; Gate Resistance; Millerperioden; dv dt och di dt transienter; Dubbelpulstest.;

    Abstract : Silicon Carbide as a wide-bandgap semiconductor has several physical and electrical advantages over Silicon for high voltage and high frequency applications. SiC as a MOSFET device has a lot of great characteristics like lower on-resistance and low input capacitances. READ MORE

  3. 3. Investigation of switching power losses of SiC MOSFET : used in a DC/DC Buck converter

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : André Xavier Svensson; [2022]

  4. 4. Investigating the use of Semiconductor Nanowires for Neural Networks

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Alfredo Serafini; [2022]
    Keywords : FDTD method and simulation; optical broadcasting neural network; optical communication of nanowires; sub-wavelength absorption.; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this work, we intend to employ nanowires for the realisation of an artificial neuron which can be used to design a neural network that will guide the new generation of non-von Neumann architectures such as Neuromorphic Computing. Possible applications are strongly related to Neuromorphic architectures and artificial intelligence, such as high-performance computers, robotics hardware and autonomous drones. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Relationship Between Vertical Integration and Risk. A Statistical Analysis of Changes in Vertical Integration within Industries Affected by the Global Semiconductor Shortage

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Företagsekonomiska institutionen

    Author : Dorotea Brsakoska; Annika Ebert; Bohdan Pavlov; [2022]
    Keywords : vertical integration; systemic risk; MNCs; semiconductor-reliant industries; semiconductor shortage; TCE; Business and Economics;

    Abstract : Succeeding a brief discussion of what vertical integration (VI) is, its interaction with risk and uncertainty, and the context of this study, namely the COVID-19 pandemic and its simultaneous semiconductor shortages, the purpose of this paper is outlined to fill a research gap regarding an empirically supported relationship between vertical integration and systemic risk. The aim and contribution here is subsequently twofold: to examine whether one can predict strategic trends and behavior among multinational companies when it comes to value chain ownership and control decisions in response to abnormal levels of systemic risk, and, to more generally statistically prove or disprove the seeming theoretical consensus that vertical integration can be a key risk-reduction strategy for various reasons, something that will be detailed and explored more closely in an extensive literature review.
