Abstract: Background: Physical activity(PA) is any activity of skeletal muscle contracts to burncalories. Physical activity can improve the physical condition of the old people anddelay the development of some chronic diseases. But many old people are not activelyinvolved in physical activity. Therefore, it is important to understand the old people’sperspectives of physical activity, and it is also necessary to identify physical activityfacilitators and barriers common in different settings in order to inform effectiveuniversal physical activity policies and strategiesAim:Describe the perspectives and the attitudes with participating in physicalactivities among old peopleDesign:A descriptive literature reviewMethod:The literature search used keywords from PubMed and the CINAHLdatabases and the results were analyzed and discussedResult:A total of ten articles were included in the review. Two themes emerged fromthe results of this study: facilitators and barriers. Three categories were included undereach theme: intrapersonal factors, interpersonal factors, and environmental factors.Conclusion: There are many factors influencing old people’s perspectives inparticipating in physical activity. Some old people do not do physical activity becauseof a lack of expertise, a lack of support from others,a lack of facilities or places toexercise and a lack of age-appropriate, confidence and health factors. However, thereare also old people who have a positive attitude towards physical activities.Nursesshould not only give professional guidance to old people, but also encourage them to bephysically active.Key words:Old people,Physical activity,Perspective
