  1. 16. Preparations for photon external beam radiotherapy treatment planning of small animals

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Joanie Diha Guei; [2022]
    Keywords : Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Introduction:The XenX is a small animal irradiation system that acquires high-resolution cone-beam tomography (CBCT) images of small animals and treats small animals with higher precision than medical linear accelerators. MuriSlice is a software for CBCT image reconstruction. READ MORE

  2. 17. Numerical method to investigate and assess the capacity of a damaged concrete structure : Using image analysis and advanced concrete modeling

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Author : Zakariya Benosmane; [2022]
    Keywords : Damaged Concrete Structure; Extended Finite Element Method XFEM ; Concrete Dam- aged Plasticity CDP ; Photogrammetry; Crack Detection Methods.;

    Abstract : Concrete has for decades been one of the main materials used to construct important structuressuch as dams and bridges. However, after years of service, the concrete structuresstart deteriorating and signs of damages start showing on the structure. READ MORE

  3. 18. Wood and moisture-induced strains in a large deformation setting in 3D

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för byggteknik (BY)

    Author : Fredrik Ström; Anwar Obeido; [2022]
    Keywords : Total Lagrangian; Finite element method; Large deformation theory; Deformation gradient decomposition; Moisture-induced strains; Hygroscopic; Orthotropic.;

    Abstract : Many studies have previously been done on moisture-induced strains in wood. An in- finitesimal/engineering strain model has been used for most of these studies, which is often an accurate approximation for small rotations. However, if large deformations oc- cur, then fictive strains are obtained resulting from the simplified engineering strain. READ MORE

  4. 19. Comparing different methods of measuring particle size for pharmaceutical excipients

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Jiawen Wang; [2022]
    Keywords : particle size; comparison; Malvern analysis; Qicpic analysis; Pharmaceutical technology; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In pharmaceutical science, particle size is one of the most fundamental parameters of materials, but different particle-sizing analysis methods lack a uniform standard for measuring irregular particle size, making it difficult to compare the accuracy and applicability of different particle-sizing analysis methods. Experiments on excipients used in pharmaceuticals are carried out in this paper by laser diffraction analysis (Malvern wet and dry), dynamic image analysis (Qicpic), and microscopic methods (Qicpic, SEM, and light microscopy) to determine the applicability and limitations of each method, as well as to clarify their advantages and disadvantages. 5. 20. 2D & 3D phase retrieval for propagation-based X-ray phase-contrast tomography

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Philip Stjärneblad; [2021]
    Keywords : Propagation-based X-ray phase-contrast tomography; PB-PCT; Propagation-based X-ray phase-contrast Imaging; PB-PCI; 2d phase retrieval; 3d phase retrieval; TIE; sinogram consistency; reconstruction artefacts; Science General;

    Abstract : Propagation-based X-ray phase-contrast tomography is a 3d imaging technique that utilizes two-dimensional projections from different angular views $\theta =[0,\pi]$ to reconstruct the 3D object information. The phase-contrast allows for higher feature contrast than conventional transmission tomography, as the phase interference gives rise to a sharp edge contrast. READ MORE
