  1. 1. Long-term deformation of balanced cantilever bridges due to non-uniform creep and shrinkage

    University essay from KTH/Betongbyggnad

    Author : Sidra Akbar; Mathias Carlie; [2021]
    Keywords : Balanced cantilever bridges; box girder cross-section; concrete; non-uniform creep and shrinkage; Bažant’s B4 model; Eurocode 2; long-term deformations; finite element analysis; Freivorbau broar; lådtvärsnitt; betong; ojämnkrypningoch krympning; BažantsB4 modell; Eurokod 2; långtidsdeformationer; finita element analys;

    Abstract : Balanced cantilever bridges have historically experienced excessive deformations. Previous researchsuggeststhat the cause may be due to differential thickness in the box girder cross-section and underestimation of creep and shrinkage. READ MORE

  2. 2. Event Generators and Light Dark Matter

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Michal Nowak; [2019]
    Keywords : Event Generators; Dark Matter; Particle Kinematics; Particle Scattering; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Recently, a number of experiments have been proposed with the aim of finding light dark matter. In particular, the proposed LDMX experiment is meant to utilize electron scattering off metal nuclei to excite dark matter emissions. Motivated by this, we construct an event generator for electrons scattering off metal nuclei. READ MORE

  3. 3. Shape functions in calculations of differential scattering cross-sections

    University essay from Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Author : Anders Johansson; [2010]
    Keywords : Differential cross-sections; DDSCS; EELS; ELNES; EMCD; Dynamical diffraction theory; thickness function; shape function; shape amplitude;

    Abstract : Two new methods for calculating the double differential scattering cross-section (DDSCS) in electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) have been developed, allowing for simulations of sample geometries which have been unavailable to earlier methods of calculation. The new methods concerns the calculations of the thickness function of the DDSCS. READ MORE
