  1. 1. Digital Microwave Control of Superconducting Qubits

    University essay from KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Author : Giuseppe Ruggero Di Carlo; [2022]
    Keywords : Superconducting qubit; High-fidelity readout; Real-time reset; iSwap gate; FPGA; RFSoC; template matching.; Supraledande kvantbit; Avläsning med hög tillförlitlighet; realtidsåterställning; iSwap-grind; FPGA; RFSoC; mallmatchning.;

    Abstract : We manipulate two superconducting qubits using digital microwave electronics. Starting fromtheir characterization, we develop a real-time reset scheme and implement the iSwap gate. Thequbits’ parameters are obtained using standard single-qubit characterization techniques, such asRabi and Ramsey oscillations and frequency sweep of the resonators. READ MORE

  2. 2. Predicting the Temporal Dynamics of Turbulent Channels through Deep Learning

    University essay from KTH/Strömningsmekanik och Teknisk Akustik

    Author : Borrelli Giuseppe; [2021]
    Keywords : Turbulent Flows; Deep Learning; Minimal Channel Flow; Fourier POD FFT-POD ; Data-driven analysis; Long-short-term-memory LSTM networks.;

    Abstract : The interest towrds machine learning applied to turbulence has experienced a fast-paced growth in the last years. Thanks to deep-learning algorithms, flow-control stratigies have been designed, as well as tools to model and reproduce the most relevant turbulent features. READ MORE

  3. 3. Real - time data and BIM: automated protocol for management and visualisation of data in real time : A case study in the "Teaching House" of the KTH campus

  4. 4. Text and Speech Alignment Methods for Speech Translation Corpora Creation : Augmenting English LibriVox Recordings with Italian Textual Translations

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för lingvistik och filologi

    Author : Giuseppe Della Corte; [2020]
    Keywords : speech translation; parallel corpora; bilingual sentence alignment; sentence embeddings; cosine similarity; forced alignment; text collection; corpora creation; audio signal processing;

    Abstract : The recent uprise of end-to-end speech translation models requires a new generation of parallel corpora, composed of a large amount of source language speech utterances aligned with their target language textual translations. We hereby show a pipeline and a set of methods to collect hundreds of hours of English audio-book recordings and align them with their Italian textual translations, using exclusively public domain resources gathered semi-automatically from the web. 5. 5. Smart Buildings: ICT as a driving energy-efficient solution for retrofitting of existing buildings

    University essay from KTH/Energiteknik

    Author : Giuseppe Sgrò; [2018]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : It is widely recognized how energy efficiency can contribute to decreasing GHG emissions, especially in the building sector, where buildings will play an increasingly important role for the future energy system, being both the largest energy consumers and becoming one of the greatest producers of renewable energy. In this new energy context, where renewable sources will be the main supplier for the production of electricity, there will be a growing need for dynamic control as well as intelligent and interconnected systems, which will lead to the creation of a new ICT architecture based on the interaction between Smart Buildings and Smart Grid, where buildings will take the role of proactive participants in the smart electricity network, facilitating the reduction of energy consumption and GHG emissions as well as other societal benefits.
