  1. 21. Silicon-based graphite electrodes for Li-ion batteries

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Strukturkemi

    Author : Rassmus Andersson; [2018]
    Keywords : silicon graphite electrodes; li-ion battery; silicon graphite anode; silicon electrode; silicon anode;

    Abstract : The cycling performance of silicon containing graphite electrodes as the anode in lithium-ion batteries has been investigated. Different electrode compositions of silicon, graphite, carbon black, sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-Na), styrene–butadiene rubber (SBR) and using water as the solvent have been prepared and evaluated electrochemically by constant-current-constant-voltage (CCCV) cycling. 2. 22. Design of Resonant Filters for AC Current Magnification : Heating of Li-ion Batteries by Using AC Currents

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Nikolina Djekanovic; [2018]
    Keywords : Current control; injection of alternating current; internal heat dissipation; LCL filter; Lithium-ion batteries; power efficiency; resonance phenomenon;

    Abstract : Using alternating current in order to heat batteries at sub-zero temperatures is a method,which is investigated in-depth by an increasing number of study groups. The thesis considersthe resonance phenomenon with the intention to use alternating current amplificationand battery’s impedance in order to induce power dissipation inside the battery, and in thisway increase its temperature. 3. 23. The modeling of drug-induced changes in ion channel kinetics and firing properties in fast-spiking interneurons: a computational study

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Author : Alexander Cahlin; [2018]
    Keywords : Modeling; Hodgkin-Huxley; Nav1.1; VGSC; SCN1A; interneurons; AA43279; 3-amino-5- 4-methoxyphenyl thiophene-2-carboxamide; electrophysiology.; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Interneurons have been found to be important for normal cognitive function. Impairments to their growth or signaling have been indicated to be involved in the development of schizophrenia, autism and epilepsy. READ MORE

  4. 24. Lifetime estimation of lithium-ion batteries for stationary energy storage system

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Author : Joakim Andersson; [2017]
    Keywords : Li-ion battery; State of charge; State of health; Kalman filtering; Energy Storage;

    Abstract : With the continuing transition to renewable inherently intermittent energy sources like solar- and wind power, electrical energy storage will become progressively more important to manage energy production and demand. A key technology in this area is Li-ion batteries. READ MORE

  5. 25. Simulation of Intermittent Current Interruption measurements on NMC-based lithium-ion batteries

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Strukturkemi

    Author : Daniel Lindqvist; [2017]
    Keywords : lithium-ion battery; NMC; internal resistance; measurement; COMSOL Multiphysics;

    Abstract : The objective of this report was to implement battery cycling and an intermittent current interruption (ICI) method for determining battery resistance into a simple lithium-ion battery model in the finite element methods (FEM) program COMSOL Multiphysics, andevaluate how accurately the model reflects the behaviour of voltage and internal resistance with respect to experimental results. The ICI technique consists of repeating the steps of first having a longer charging period and then having a short current interruption, where the internal resistance is calculated from the voltage drop that occurs when the current is turned off.
