  1. 21. Smart task logging : Prediction of tasks for timesheets with machine learning

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för datavetenskap och medieteknik (DM)

    Author : Emil Bengtsson; Emil Mattsson; [2018]
    Keywords : Computer science; machine learning; multiclass logistic regression; multinomial logistic regression; Scala; JavaScript; web application; training data;

    Abstract : Every day most people are using applications and services that are utilising machine learning, in some way, without even knowing it. Some of these applications and services could, for example, be Google’s search engine, Netflix’s recommendations, or Spotify’s music tips. READ MORE

  2. 22. Spelling Correction in a Music Entity Search Engine by Learning from Historical Search Queries

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Maria Movin; [2018]
    Keywords : Machine Learning; LSTM; Music search; Query Suggestion;

    Abstract : Query spelling correction is an important component of modern search engines that can help users to express their intent, and thus improve search quality. In this study, we investigated with what accuracy a sequence-to-sequence recurrent neural network (RNN) can recognise and correct misspellings in a music search engine, when the model is trained with old search queries. 3. 23. Deep Neural Networks for Context Aware Personalized Music Recommendation : A Vector of Curation

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för datavetenskap och kommunikation (CSC)

    Author : Oktay Bahceci; [2017]
    Keywords : Information Filtering; Information Retrieval; Search Engine; Search Engines; Recommendation; Music Recommendation; Personalized Recommendation; Personalised Recommendation; Context Aware Recommendation; Recommender Systems; Statistical Learning; Artificial Intelligence; Machine Learning; Deep Learning; Neural Networks; Artificial Neural Networks; Feed Forward Neural Networks; Convolutional Neural Networks; Recurrent Neural Networks; Deep Neural Networks; Embedding;

    Abstract : Information Filtering and Recommender Systems have been used and has been implemented in various ways from various entities since the dawn of the Internet, and state-of-the-art approaches rely on Machine Learning and Deep Learning in order to create accurate and personalized recommendations for users in a given context. These models require big amounts of data with a variety of features such as time, location and user data in order to find correlations and patterns that other classical models such as matrix factorization and collaborative filtering cannot. 4. 24. Weighting Edit Distance to Improve Spelling Correction in Music Entity Search

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för datavetenskap och kommunikation (CSC)

    Author : Axel Samuelsson; [2017]
    Keywords : Spelling correction; edit distance; search; music; spotify; trie; Damerau; Levenshtein;

    Abstract : This master’s thesis project undertook investigation of whether the extant Damerau- Levenshtein edit distance measurement between two strings could be made more useful for detecting and adjusting misspellings in a search query. The idea was to use the knowledge that many users type their queries using the QWERTY keyboard layout, and weighting the edit distance in a manner that makes it cheaper to correct misspellings caused by confusion of nearer keys. 5. 25. Comparing voice and touch interaction for smartphone radio and podcast application

    University essay from KTH/Medieteknik och interaktionsdesign, MID

    Author : Fredrik Wallén; [2017]
    Keywords : voice user interface; voice command; natural language user interface; voice search; voice assistant;

    Abstract : Today voice recognition is becoming mainstream and nowadays it is also possible to include in individual smartphone apps. However, it has not previously been investigated for which tasks it is preferable from a usability perspective to use voice recognition rather than touch. READ MORE
