  1. 11. Robust control of hand prosthesis using electromyography, accelerometers and gyros

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Author : Viktor Löfving; [2017]
    Keywords : Prosthesis control; EMG; surface electrodes; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The goals of this project are to investigate the viability of using the MyoTM armband developed by Thalmic labs as a tool for myoelectric control of a hand prosthesis as well as investigate whether the armbands ability to record its spatial position and orientation can be used to increase the performance of the prosthesis control program. Using the surface electrodes, gyroscopes and accelerometers of the MyoTM armband, a control system for myoelectric control of a hand prosthesis was created and tested on nine different users. 2. 12. Muscle to motor communication

    University essay from KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Inst.)

    Author : Martin Isacsson; [2015]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The purpose of this study is to examine the parameters influencing the signal to noise ratio in surface electromyography as well as the signals usability as a means of control in mechatronical applications. Electromyography refers to the electrical signals detected in the muscles during activation. READ MORE

  3. 13. Muscle activity in bilateral and unilateralbody weight squat : An electromyographic study

    University essay from Högskolan i Halmstad/Bio- och miljösystemforskning (BLESS)

    Author : Maja Hegnelius; [2015]
    Keywords : EMG; squat;

    Abstract : Hegnelius, M. - Background. It would be beneficial to the society to bring more awareness about the health benefits that comes with physical activity. Resistance training is a form of physical activity that has positive health benefits for athletes as well as for the average person. READ MORE

  4. 14. Optomyography: Detection of muscle surface displacement using reflective photo resistor

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för teknik och hälsa (STH)

    Author : Jammalamadaka Raghavendra; [2014]
    Keywords : Optomyography; Photo-electric sensors; Surface EMG;

    Abstract : A human body can carry out many physiological complex processes which can be mechanical, electrical or bio-chemical. Each mechanical activity generates a signal that describes the characteristics of the particular action in the form of pressure or temperature. READ MORE

  5. 15. Muscle Activation and Movement Coordination.

    University essay from KTH/Mekanik

    Author : Carl Ljung; [2014]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The purpose of this project was to empirically develop a method of using electromyography to identify how humans coordinate their muscles during certain sequences of movement and the effect of an injured anterior cruciate ligament to muscle coordination. In this study, more simple movements of the lower extremities are examined and relatively accurate hypothesizes can be made solely based on anatomical theory. READ MORE
