  1. 16. Lifetime prediction of a polymeric propellant binder using the Arrhenius approach

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap

    Author : Johannes Bohlin; [2021]
    Keywords : Polymer; Thermal-oxidative degradation; Lifetime prediction; Propellant; Arrhenius; Aging experiments; Diffusion-limited oxidation;

    Abstract : The thermal-oxidative degradation of a crosslinked hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB)/cycloaliphatic diisocyanate (H12MDI) based polymer, which is commonly used as a polymeric binder in propellants, is investigated at temperatures from 95°C to 125°C with the aim of estimating the lifetime of the material in storage conditions (20°C) using the Arrhenius approach. Furthermore, the effect of antioxidants and to a lesser extent plasticizer on the degradation process was also studied. READ MORE

  2. 17. γ-aminobutyric acid Rich Foods : methods for production and the effects of intake

    University essay from SLU/Department of Molecular Sciences

    Author : Agnes Sjöblom; [2021]
    Keywords : gamma-aminobutyric acid; GABA; GABA tea; fermentation; functional food; probiotics; lactic acid bacteria;

    Abstract : The current widespread interest in healthy lifestyle creates a demand for functional foods. New nutritious food products and supplements are launched on the market and products enriched with γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) constitutes some of them. γ-aminobutyric acid is a widely present amino acid in plants, animals, fungi and microorganisms. 4. 19. The discoloration of polyethylene obtained from chemical separation of laminates: Investigating additives and other potential causes

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Förpackningslogistik

    Author : Can Feng; [2021]
    Keywords : Delamination; multilayered packaging; polymer discoloration; plastic film; recycling; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : PolyAl, the material composed of laminated polyethylene (PE) films and aluminum (Al) in carton, is a challenge in recycling due to the strong adhesion of the layers and the low value of the end products. In Europe, recent efforts to improve the circularity of carton packages include the chemical separation of PolyAl, in order to obtain higher values of the PE and Al separately. READ MORE

  5. 20. Evaluation of electrospun lignin/polyvinyl alcohol/cellulose nanofiber mats

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Lisa Johansson Carne; [2021]
    Keywords : Electrospinning; lignin; polyvinyl alcohol; cellulose nanofiber; wound dressing;

    Abstract : Polymeric electrospun nanofiber mats have recently emerged as a promising alternative to conventional wound dressings for non-healing wounds. Its large surface area, porosity and scalability are only a few of the promising characteristics of electrospun nanofibers. READ MORE
