  1. 41. Sustainability risks in multi-tier supply chains. A dynamic capabilities perspective on integrating remote sensing technology into sustainable sourcing to manage sustainability risks in upstream supply chains.

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Internationella miljöinstitutet

    Author : Lisa Marie Heldt; [2020]
    Keywords : sustainable supply chain management; supply chain risk; remote sensing technology; deforestation; multi-tier supply chains; resilience; dynamic capabilities; Social Sciences; Business and Economics; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The raw material tier in companies’ supply chains can be a hotspot for sustainability issues like deforestation and resulting legal, reputational, financial and operational risks – yet companies’ supply chain management efforts as well as research on sustainable supply chain management still focus on direct suppliers due to poor upstream transparency. With technical progress, remote sensing and satellite technology now allow companies to gain systematic, direct oversight of deforestation and related environmental change on the ground. READ MORE

  2. 42. Bosnia and Herzegovina: A Migrant Hotspot at the Gates of Fortress Europe

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Avdelningen för migration, etnicitet och samhälle; Linköpings universitet/REMESO - Institutet för forskning om Migration, Etnicitet och Samhälle

    Author : Elisabetta Deidda; [2020]
    Keywords : Balkan route; Bosnia and Herzegovina; European Union; externalization; securitization; IOM; migration management; migration control; border control; refugee crisis; migrants; refugees;

    Abstract : This thesis is a qualitative study focusing on the situation that has evolved in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) from the beginning of 2018, when migrants and refugees started entering the country in large numbers in the context of the so-called Balkan route. The approach adopted in the thesis is informed by critical studies emphasizing the asymmetries entailed in the emerging multilevel governance of migration. READ MORE

  3. 43. Petrography, alteration and structure of the Bronäs Zn-Pb-Ag deposits, Bergslagen, Sweden

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Tom Turner; [2020]
    Keywords : Bronäs; Sala;

    Abstract : This report aims to characterize the alteration styles and mineralization of the Zn-Pb-Ag Bronäs deposit, in the Sala area of the Bergslagen mining district, Sweden.  It presents data collected through 237m of lithological logging and subsequent lithogeochemical data, which, coupled with thin section and SEM analysis has led to the first geological descriptions of the rocks in the deposit. 4. 44. Idiom-driven innermost loop vectorization in the presence of cross-iteration data dependencies in the HotSpot C2 compiler

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Programvara och system

    Author : William Sjöblom; [2020]
    Keywords : compiler; vectorization; SIMD; Java; HotSpot; code optimization; reductions; prefix sums; parallel programming; data-level parallelism;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a technique for automatic vectorization of innermost single statement loops with a cross-iteration data dependence by analyzing data-flow to recognize frequently recurring program idioms. Recognition is carried out by matching the circular SSA data-flow found around the loop body’s φ-function against several primitive patterns, forming a tree representation of the relevant data-flow that is then pruned down to a single parameterized node, providing a high-level specification of the data-flow idiom at hand used to guide algorithmic replacement applied to the intermediate representation. 5. 45. Comparative Life Cycle Assessment of Cardiac Monitoring Devices : A Case Study

    University essay from KTH/Industriell produktion

    Author : Samruddha Kokare; [2020]
    Keywords : Life Cycle Assessment LCA ; Cardiac monitoring devices; Stretchable electronics; Livscykelbedömning LCA ; hjärtövervakningsanordningar; stretchbar elektronik;

    Abstract : Current cardiac monitoring devices are rigid, bulky, and integrate poorly with the human skin, obstructing health monitoring for longer periods. With the miniaturization of electronics, soft and stretchable polymer substrate-based cardiac monitoring device is being developed at Mycronic AB to overcome the aforementioned issues and replacing the traditional rigid electronics-based cardiac monitoring devices.
