  1. 16. Nonlinear Methods of Aerodynamic Data-driven Reduced Order Modeling

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för beräkningsvetenskap

    Author : Arvid Forsberg; [2022]
    Keywords : machine learning; aerodynamics; autoencoder; kernel transformation; principal component analysis; nonlinear; regression; modeling; surrogate model; reduced order modeling; neural network;

    Abstract : Being able to accurately approximate outputs of computationally expensive simulations for arbitrary input parameters, also called missing points estimation, is central in many different areas of research and development with applications ranging from uncertainty propagation to control system design to name a few. This project investigates the potential of kernel transformations and nonlinear autoencoders as methods of improving the accuracy of the proper orthogonal decomposition method combined with regression. 2. 17. Vibration-Based Terrain Classification for an Autonomous Truck

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Lucas Lovén; [2022]
    Keywords : Autonomous vehicles; machine learning; surface identification; obstacle identification; signal processing; time series classification; Autonoma fordon; maskininlärning; detektering av underlag; detektering av hinder; signalhantering; tidsserie klassifiering;

    Abstract : This thesis is focused on developing vibration based terrain classification for an autonomous mining truck. The goal is to classify between good and bad gravel roads as well as good and bad asphalt roads. Current literature within vibration based terrain classification has been focused to a great extent on smaller research vehicles. READ MORE

  3. 18. Beamformed Channel Matrix Positioning using 5G Testbench CSI data with a Deep-Learning Pipeline

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Andre Ráth; [2022]
    Keywords : 5G; Deep Learning; Positioning; Channel State Information; CSI; Deep-learning; neural-network; particle-filter; particle; filter; Channel Matrix; Beamformed Channel Matrix; localization; real-world; data-driven; 5G testbench; basestation; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Within the telecommunications industry, a positioning system for estimating user equipment (UE) location using purely information available for the basestation has an enormous number of potential uses. The link between physical position and the network channel state enables potential positioning systems to function by under- standing the network channel state dependency on location, using a model-based, data-based, or a combined approach. 4. 19. Prognostics for Condition Based Maintenance of Electrical Control Units Using On-Board Sensors and Machine Learning

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Fordonssystem

    Author : Gabriel Fredriksson; [2022]
    Keywords : machine learning; random forest; random survival forest; condition based maintenance; cbm; reliability; solder joint failure; thermomechanical cycling; ECU; lifetime prediction; data-driven; statistics; BGA; PCBA; field quality; maintenance; truck; bus; vehicle;

    Abstract : In this thesis it has been studied how operational and workshop data can be used to improve the handling of field quality (FQ) issues for electronic units. This was done by analysing how failure rates can be predicted, how failure mechanisms can be detected and how data-based lifetime models could be developed. READ MORE

  5. 20. Semi-supervised Sentiment Analysis for Sentence Classification

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för lingvistik och filologi

    Author : Eirini Tsakiri; [2022]
    Keywords : sentiment analysis; text classification; semi-supervised learning; machine learning;

    Abstract : In our work, we deploy semi-supervised learning methods to perform Sentiment Analysis on a corpus of sentences, meant to be labeled as either happy, neutral, sad, or angry. Sentence-BERT is used to obtain high-dimensional embeddings for the sentences in the training and testing sets, on which three classification methods are applied: the K-Nearest Neighbors classifier (KNN), Label Propagation, and Label Spreading.
