  1. 21. Differences in staurolite mode due to changes in bulk composition as an effect of mass transfer by fluids during metamorphism

    University essay from Institutionen för geologiska vetenskaper

    Author : Jonas Nilsson; [2014]
    Keywords : metamorphism; metapelite; metapsammite; staurolite; glen esk; selvage; fluid flow; vein formation; dalradian; scotland; highlands; thermocalc; activity; phase diagram; mineral phase; pressure; temperature; p-t estimates;

    Abstract : Results from petrographic analyses, chemical analyses and mineral phase diagram calculations show that staurolite minerals grew in selvages adjacent to quartz veins. Previous studies show the same relationships between quartz veins and garnet, as well as kyanite growth. READ MORE

  2. 22. The Säm fold structure : characterization of folding and metamorphism in a part of the eclogite–granulite region, Sveconorwegian orogen

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Stephen Michalchuk; [2013]
    Keywords : anatexis; high-T granulite; interference folds; polydeformation; Sveconorwegian orogen; SW Sweden; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Structural and petrological studies on complexly folded mafic and felsic layered sequences have been mapped in the parautochthonous basement of the Sveconorwegian Province, Sweden. Three deformation phases (D1, D2, D3)involving at least two fold phases (F2, F3) and two lineation phases (L2, L3) characterize a polyphase fold, which is primarily defined by a migmatized and highly competent garnet amphibolite. 3. 23. P-T evolution of paragneisses and amphibolites from Romeleåsen, Scania, southernmost Sweden

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Jan Ulmius; [2013]
    Keywords : Romeleåsen; metamorphism; geothermobarometry; pseudosection; Theriak-Domino; P-T path; Hallandian Danopolonian; Sveconorwegian Romeleåsen; metamorfism; geotermobarometri; pseudosektion; P-T-utveckling; halandisk danopolonisk; svekonorvegisk; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Populärvetenskaplig sammanfattning Vad har berget i Romeleåsen varit med om? Jordskorpan är uppbyggd av ett antal plattor. Vid plattgränser under oceanerna bildas ny skorpa av magma som tränger upp. Oceanplattan kan inte öka i storlek. READ MORE

  4. 24. Interpretation of the P-T-XCO2 environment during metamorphism of carbonates, central Utö, Stockholm archipelago.

    University essay from Institutionen för geologiska vetenskaper

    Author : Linnéa Lundin; [2013]
    Keywords : Metacarbonates; THERMOCALC; Utö; Calcite-Dolomite geothermometer; Fluid composition; SEM; Greenschist facies.;

    Abstract : This thesis attempts to interpret the metamorphic condition and fluid composition experienced by metacarbonates on Utö, located in the south-eastern parts of the Stockholm archipelago. Utö is a part of the Svecofennian domain, and the area Bergslagen, that has hosted several mines over the last millennia. READ MORE

  5. 25. Magnetoconductiivity of icosahedral AIPdRe at temperatures between 50-250 Kelvin

    University essay from KTH/Material- och nanofysik

    Author : Sana Ullah; [2013]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The electrical conductivity of icosahedral Al70:5Pd21Re8:5 samples with residual resistance ratio RRR = p(4:2K)=p(295K), in the range from 10 to 220 are reported. The samples were manufactured by melting in an arc furnace and then annealed at 940 °C. One of the samples (RRR=10) was made by melt spinning. READ MORE
