  1. 6. Vibration Control of a High-Speed Railway Bridge Using Multiple Tuned Mass Dampers

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Author : Heydar Beygi; [2015]
    Keywords : Tuned mass dampers; Dynamic analysis; high-speed railway bridge; Banafjäl bridge;

    Abstract : In the current thesis, the Banafjäl Bridge located on the Bothnia line (Botniabanan) in northern Sweden was studied. The bridge is a 40m long composite ballasted high-speed railway bridge. A 3D FE model of the bridge was developed using a commercial FE software, Abaqus. The FE model was calibrated against the measured data of the bridge. READ MORE

  2. 7. Slab track systems for high-speed railways.

    University essay from KTH/Väg- och banteknik

    Author : Georgios Michas; [2012]
    Keywords : Railway slab track; High-speed tracks; Finite element analysis; Rheda; Maintenance; Life Cycle Cost;

    Abstract : In the last 40 years an increase in train speed and axle load around the world and other challenges in the conventional ballasted track system gave birth to ballastless railway track system. This study examines in depth the various slab track systems that are being used today. READ MORE

  3. 8. Equivalent Dynamics Model of Ballasted Track Bed

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Sektionen för ingenjörsvetenskap

    Author : Said Daoud; Xie Guowei; Liu Xiaoming; [2012]
    Keywords : ABAQUS; Ballast; modeling; simulation; train-track; fracture mechanics;

    Abstract : Increase of track maintenance costs and change of track geometry are due to the vibration of ballasted railway. The aim of this thesis work is to model train-track system as a multiply degree of freedom systems by Lump Parameter Method. READ MORE

  4. 9. Parametric study of bridge response to high speed trains, ballasted track on concrete bridges

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Author : Shahbaz Rashid; [2011]
    Keywords : Ballast stiffness; transition zones; Railway bridges; the Swedish X2000 train; vertical deck acceleration; MATLAB-ABAQUS model; Finite element analysis.;

    Abstract : When a train enters a bridge, passenger sitting inside will feel a sudden bump in the track, which not only affect the riding comfort of the passengers but also put a dynamic impact on the bridge structure. Due to this impact force, we have very serious maintenance problems in the track close to the bridge structure. READ MORE

  5. 10. Traffic-induced vibrations on a two span composite railway bridge : Comparison of theory and measurements

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad; KTH/Järnvägsgruppen, JVG

    Author : José Miguel Escudero López; [2011]
    Keywords : High speed train; dynamic analysis; railway bridge; vibrations; Gröna Tåget; finite element model; eigenfrequencies; model updating;

    Abstract : The economic and technologic development experienced by the society in the last decades has caused the demand of a new type of faster and more comfortable transport. This type of demand has been covered by the air transport, the road transport and the railway transport. READ MORE
