  1. 1. Fabrication and characterizationof self-supporting Yttrium foils

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Author : Julia Fejes; Sofia Reineck; [2022]
    Keywords : yttrium; thin foils; meis; yttrium oxyhydride; photochromic; erda;

    Abstract : In this project self-supporting foils with focus on the element yttriumhave been fabricated by means of evaporation and magnetron sputtering.The goal was to see if it was possible to make photochromic selfsupportingyttrium foils. Multiple self-supporting foils were made andsome had suitable properties to be further investigated. READ MORE

  2. 2. Parton Shower Algorithms - Possible Improvements

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Baptiste Cabouat; [2017]
    Keywords : Parton shower; event generators; Monte Carlo simulations; QCD; Pythia; Final-state radiation; Initial-State radiation; evolution variable; dipole; recoils; deep inelastic scattering; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this Master thesis, two directions have been explored to improve the current parton shower algorithm of the event generator Pythia. Firstly, three choices of transverse-momentum-ordered evolution variable have been studied for final-state radiation in order to allow more flexibility within the algorithm. READ MORE

  3. 3. Analysis of triple gamma coincidences for studies of the level structure of nuclei in the 100-Sn region

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Kärnfysik

    Author : Ludvig Hallberg; [2017]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In this master thesis a thorough analysis of data collected in an experiment performed at the JYFL accelerator laboratory in Finland using a reaction with a 47-Ti beam on a 58-Ni target is presented. The prompt emitted gamma rays from the fusion-evaporation products were detected in the gamma-ray spectrometer JUROGAM II, while the recoils were detected in the GREAT spectrometer. READ MORE
