1. The value of cardiac MRI texture analysis in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis
University essay fromAbstract : Purpose: The aim of this proof-of-concept study was to assess the diagnostic value of texture analysis (TA) based on conventional balanced steady-state-free precession (bSSFP), late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and T2-weighted cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis. Method: A retrospective cohort study was performed based on 30 patients who underwent a comprehensive CMRI due to clinically suspected myocarditis between 2013 and 2018 at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital: 10 patients with clinical signs and positive myocardial biomarkers (Troponin T, indicating myocardial injury) as well as positive CMRI findings according to Lake Louise Criteria (LLC; group 1), 10 patients with clinical signs and positive myocardial biomarkers but negative CMRI findings according to LLC (group 2), and 10 patients with clinical signs but both negative myocardial biomarkers as well as CMRI findings according to LLC (control group). 2. Using Machine Learning for Predictive Maintenance in Modern Ground-Based Radar Systems
University essay from KTH/Matematisk statistikAbstract : Military systems are often part of critical operations where unplanned downtime should be avoided at all costs. Using modern machine learning algorithms it could be possible to predict when, where, and at what time a fault is likely to occur which enables time for ordering replacement parts and scheduling maintenance. 3. Modeling wind-induced currents in lake Bolmen, Sweden, using TELEMAC 2D
University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresursläraAbstract : Transport and material intermixing within lake systems have a significant impact on lake water quality. However, since researchers are primarily concerned with biological, environmental, and ecological aspects, physics and hydrodynamic behavior in lake water currents frequently receive less attention. 4. Optical characterisation of AAO/CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocomposites
University essay from Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : Direct bandgap metal lead halide perovskites offer promising optoelectronic properties desirable in a wide range of applications including photodetection. However, the incomplete and poor understanding of the photophysical processes taking place in these materials, along with their poor stability, is the bottleneck for optimisation and further development of metal halide perovskite devices. 5. Steering Control During μ-split Braking for an Autonomous Heavy Road Vehicle
University essay from Linköpings universitet/FordonssystemAbstract : A critical maneuver for a heavy vehicle is braking with different friction on the left and right hand side of the vehicle, called μ-split. This results in an unwanted yaw torque acting on the vehicle. During this situation, the driver maintains the lateral stability and follows the desired path by corrective steering. READ MORE
