  1. 11. Climate change: Information, beliefs and action. Can new information affect Swedes’ climate change mitigation efforts?

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Author : Martin Kihlstedt; [2022]
    Keywords : Climate change; information provision experiment; beliefs; action; climate behavior; social norms; climate policy; survey experiment; information deficit; Sweden; Business and Economics;

    Abstract : Due to the steep requirements of the 1.5°C goal, there is an urgent need to better understand what measures can be used to strengthen climate mitigation efforts. This study illuminates which factors drive climate mitigation efforts in the Swedish public and how such efforts are affected by new information. READ MORE

  2. 12. Use of the JET pedestal database to assess the role of ion temperature and plasma rotation on the discrepancy between ideal peeling-ballooning model and experimental data

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Max Eichenberger; [2022]
    Keywords : Nuclear fusion; Joint European Torus JET ; H-mode; pedestal; Edge-localized-modes ELMs ; Peeling-Ballooning; relative shift; ion temperature; plasma rotation; Kärnfusion; JET Joint European Torus ; H-läge; piedestal; ELM Edge LocalizedModes ; peeling-ballooning; relativ förskjutning; jontemperatur; plasmarotation;

    Abstract : Next-generation and present fusion devices such as the Joint European Torus (JET) aim for plasma operations in H-mode, a plasma regime with high confinement and low loss of energy and fuel that results from a barrier for heat and particle transport at the plasma edge, the pedestal. Due to steep gradients of the density, temperature and pressure profiles, the pedestal experiences instabilities called Edge-localized-modes (ELMs) which lead to large fluxes of heat and particles that might damage machine components. 3. 13. Development of an electric driveline model for multiscale road-cargo simulations

    University essay from KTH/Väg- och spårfordon samt konceptuell fordonsdesign

    Author : Runzhe Wu; [2022]
    Keywords : System Engineering; AnyLogic Traffic Simulation; Simulink Simulation; Driveline Model Building; C Program Execution; Systemteknik; AnyLogic Trafiksimulering; Simulink Simulering; Drivelinemodell; C Programexekvering;

    Abstract : Currently, the road cargo system with low or zero CO2 emission is under rapid development. Heavy-duty trucks with electrified driveline systems will be the workhorse of future freight. READ MORE

  4. 14. Dispersal and habitat use of juvenile brown trout (Salmo trutta) following egg stocking : -A case study in the river Rotälven, Sweden

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för miljö- och livsvetenskaper (from 2013)

    Author : Jonathan Larsson; [2022]
    Keywords : brown trout; egg stocking; dispersal; alevin; fry; parr; redd; habitat preference; Öring; romutsättning; spridning; yngel; parr; habitatpreferens;

    Abstract : Egg stocking in rivers and streams is a common measure to support and re-introduce salmonid populations. To ensure the success of egg stocking programs, knowledge of the early life stages of juveniles including dispersal ability and habitat preferences of fry is a prerequisite. READ MORE

  5. 15. Solar Pool Heating at Obbola School : A pilot study about performance evaluation of different solar thermal collectors and their long-term economic benefits for Umeå Municipality

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Author : Tekie Tekle; [2022]
    Keywords : Solar Thermal Energy; Solvärme;

    Abstract : This pilot study aims to evaluate the thermal performance of different types of solar thermal collectors and their long-term economic benefits for Obbola school, located within the Umeå municipality. The goal of this project is to investigate how much thermal and electrical energy can be generated annually and even during summertime by using only solar collectors for heating purposes of an outdoor pool at Obbola school.
