  1. 16. Mining the imagery : A text mining and news media content analysis of the Swedish country image in the Guardian, 2010-2020

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för ABM

    Author : Axel Tjellander; [2022]
    Keywords : Sweden; country image; public diplomacy; text mining; distant reading; topic modelling; corpus assisted discourse analysis;

    Abstract : In the field of public diplomacy, it has increasingly become relevant to develop analytical operations in order to gain knowledge on the perceptions of foreign publics and their attitudes towards countries – a construct known as the country image. In recent time, research on public diplomacy has been increasingly occupied with the impact of media on country images due to the continuous expansion and fragmentation of the hybrid media landscape. 2. 17. Design of compact automotive heat exchanger, analysing the effects of RANS models and utilising Additive Manufacturing

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Nikhil Srikkanth; Bartosz Brzuchalski; [2022]
    Keywords : Turbulence; Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes; KTH Formula Student; metal additive manufacturing; CFD; turbulent kinetic energy; boundary layer;

    Abstract : The analytical modelling of complex turbulent airflow remains one of the great unsolved mysteries of physics, but in this paper two widely used Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes models (k-$\epsilon$ and k-$\omega$ SST) are compared while designing a heat exchanger for the KTH Formula Student electric race car. CAD software was used to design lattices for the heat exchanger core and theorise about how to increase heat transfer while also taking into account the utilisation of metal additive manufacturing. 3. 18. Spectroscopic model characterisation of hot exoplanet atmospheres

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Elin Sandvik; [2022]
    Keywords : Transit method; Transmission spectroscopy; Exoplanets; Hot Jupiter; Modelling; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Hot Jupiters are gas giants under intense stellar radiation with short orbital periods of only a few days. Due to their large radii, hot temperatures, and large scale heights, hot Jupiters can be observationally characterised in detail through spectroscopy over an entire orbital phase. READ MORE

  4. 19. Embedding Carbon Nanotubes Sensors into Carbon Fiber Laminates

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Riccardo Andolfi; [2022]
    Keywords : Multifunctional Materials; Sensing Abilities; Carbon Nanotubes; Carbon Fibers; Analytical Modelling; Finite Element Modelling; Multifunktionella Material; Avkänningsförmåga; Kolnanorör; Kolfibrer; Analytisk Modellering; Finita Elementmodellering;

    Abstract : The use of Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite materials in structural applications has increased in the past decades in highperformance sectors, such as in the automotive and aeronautic industries, for weight reduction purposes. However, FRP composite materials can offer more significant innovation potential. READ MORE

  5. 20. Exploratory Analysis of Isoelectric Point Prediction with Simple Feature Encoding

    University essay from KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Author : Henrik Söderhielm; [2022]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Biotechnology; Tillämpad Fysik; Bioteknolgi;

    Abstract : Proteomics is the large scale study of proteins in biological systems such as those found in human cells. The understanding of proteomes, i.e. the complete set of proteins expressed by an organism, has especially useful applications in the medical field such as genetic research and drug discovery.
