  1. 1. Positive-Ion/Negative-Ion Coincidence (PINICO) Experiments on Water

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/MAX IV-laboratoriet

    Author : Bruno Moog; [2017]
    Keywords : PINICO; TOF; time-of-flight; time of flight; spectroscopy; coincidence spectroscopy; water; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : A new setup for versatile ion time-of-flight coincidence spectroscopy was built using a pre-existing negative ion time-of-flight spectrometer aligned with a short extension that may be used to detect photons, Auger electrons or positive ions. The extension was designed to be short to improve detection of photons, as they do not have a preferred direction for their emission, and high-momentum particles, which would miss the detector if it were placed farther from the interaction region. 2. 2. Analysis and characterization of environmental friendly trivalent chromium passivation of aluminum alloys

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Author : Emma Västerlund; Ronja Flink; [2016]
    Keywords : aluminium alloys; trivalent chromium passivation; SurTec 650V; goniometry; XPS; AES; SEM; TEM; corrosion;

    Abstract : As of 21st September 2017, industrial use of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) will, due to its environmental toxicity and carcinogenicity, be restricted by REACH regulations. Saab Aeronautics is therefore shifting anticorrosion surface treatment of aluminum alloys from hexavalent chromium conversion to trivalent chromium (Cr(III)) passivation. READ MORE

  3. 3. CO induced faceting of Rh(553)

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik

    Author : Ka Sin Lai; [2015]
    Keywords : Science General;

    Abstract : We have investigated the CO induced faceting of a Rh(553) surface using Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM), Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED) and Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES). The sample was exposed to a CO pressure of 1x10^-3 mbar, at different sample temperatures. READ MORE

  4. 4. The Influence of Oxygen on Nanowire Surface Structure and Electronic Properties

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Viktor Abelin; [2015]
    Keywords : Scanning tunneling microscopy; STM; Auger electron spectroscopy; AES; nanowire; hydrogen cleaning; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the possibilities for setups measuring how the surface structure of nanowires (NWs) influences their electric properties. For this the abilities to clean surfaces and detect nanowires (NWs) are examined, and an attempt to build a setup is made. READ MORE

  5. 5. Auger Electron Spectroscopy of Controlled Delaminating Materials on Aluminium Surfaces

    University essay from Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap, fysik och matematik

    Author : Jon Högblad; [2008]
    Keywords : CDM; Auger Electron Spectroscopy; Electrically Disbonding Adhesives;

    Abstract : This master thesis in physics mainly treats Auger spectroscopy of interfaces that has been adhesively bond together with so called controlled delaminating materials (CDM). CDM is a new technology which involves adhesives with the distinctive property that they by the appliance of electricity can be released from a substrate. READ MORE
