  1. 1. Anatomical segmentation of the human brain: comparative assessment of two automatic methods

    University essay from

    Author : Carl von Dorrien; [2023-08-22]
    Keywords : Medical physics; MAPER; FreeSurfer; FastSurfer; Automatic brain segmentation; MRI; Deep Neural Network; Brain;

    Abstract : Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a robust and versatile imaging modality and an integral component of a lot of studies, especially when performing quantitative analysis. MRI is the preferred method of imaging the brain because of its excellent soft tissue contrast. READ MORE

  2. 2. Alzheimer's disease heterogeneity assessment using high dimensional clustering techniques

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Statistik; Linköpings universitet/Filosofiska fakulteten

    Author : Konstantinos Poulakis; [2016]
    Keywords : Alzheimer s; heterogeneity; atrophy; clustering; Bayesian; morphometry; dimension;

    Abstract : This thesis sets out to investigate the Alzheimer's disease (AD) heterogeneity in an unsupervised framework. Different subtypes of AD were identified in the past from a number of studies. The major objective of the thesis is to apply clustering methods that are specialized in coping with high dimensional data sets, in a sample of AD patients. READ MORE

  3. 3. Alzheimer's Disease Classification using K-OPLS and MRI

    University essay from Medicinsk informatik; Tekniska högskolan

    Author : Farshad Falahati Asrami; [2012]
    Keywords : Alzheimer’s Disease; Age correction; Classification; K-OPLS; MCI; MRI;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we have used the kernel based orthogonal projection to latent structures (K-OPLS) method to discriminate between Alzheimer's Disease patients (AD) and healthy control subjects (CTL), and to predict conversion from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to AD. In this regard three cohorts were used to create two different datasets; a small dataset including 63 subjects based on the Alzheimer’s Research Trust (ART) cohort and a large dataset including 1074 subjects combining the AddNeuroMed (ANM) and the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) cohorts.
