  1. 6. Development of Inlet Valve in an Oil-free Novel Steam Engine

    University essay from KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Inst.)

    Author : Gautam Rajeev; Dinesh Thirunavukkarasu; [2021]
    Keywords : Steam engine; rotational valve; actuator mechanism; sealing; Ångmotor; rotationsventil; ställdon; tätning;

    Abstract : A novel compact steam engine design could be used to replace current combustion engines in the rapidly changing world of renewable energy. Especially with the increased research into alternative fuels such as hydrogen fuel cells and methane, which would vastly improve the efficiency of a steam engine. READ MORE

  2. 7. Cooking fuels and children respiratory health: Evidence from Nigeria

    University essay from Jönköping University/Internationella Handelshögskolan

    Author : Boishakhy Devi; [2021]
    Keywords : Cooking fuels; Children respiratory health; HAP; ARI; Modern fuels; Nigeria;

    Abstract : Household air pollution (HAP) has been recognized as one of the lethal causes of millions of premature deaths every year, victimizing mainly children and women. Literature suggests that transition to modern cooking fuels such as electricity, biogas from the conventional ones, for instance, fuelwood, coal, can reduce HAP, thus minimize the likelihood of respiratory health problems among household members. 3. 8. The pathway to outcompete fossilfuels : Solar thermal as an alternative for industrial heating processesin Gujarat, India

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Byggteknik och byggd miljö

    Author : Nordlander Emilie; [2021]
    Keywords : Solar Therma Energy; India; Industrial heating; Absolicon Solar Collector AB;

    Abstract : 2015 the Paris agreement was signed to tackle the climate change and reduce emissions from fossil fuel burning. The industrial and manufacturing sector which alone accounts for 32% of global energy use relies heavily on fossil fuels. Solar thermal energy is a renewable energy source that has potential of replacing large portions of this energy. READ MORE

  4. 9. Aerothermal and Kinetic Modelling of a Gas Turbine Dry Low Emission Combustion System

    University essay from KTH/Strömningsmekanik och Teknisk Akustik

    Author : David Håkansson; [2021]
    Keywords : Gas turbine; combustion; one-dimensional combustion simulation; network model; general network model; NOx emissions; hydrogen; Gasturbin; förbränning; endimensionell förbränningssimulering; nätverksmodell; generell nätverksmodell; NOx-utsläpp; väte;

    Abstract : Growing environmental concerns are causing a large transformation within the energy industry. Within the gas turbine industry, there is a large drive to develop improved modern dry-low emission combustion systems. The aim is to enable gas turbines to run on green fuels like hydrogen, while still keeping emission as NOx down. READ MORE

  5. 10. A 3D Sub-Surface Characterisation of the Arnager Greensand, South-west Skåne

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Gregory Marcel Davies Jones; [2019]
    Keywords : Arnager Greensand; digitization; depth conversion; reservoir; storage potential;

    Abstract :  A surface characterisation of the Arnager Greensand in south Sweden, a deep saline aquifer found to be suitable for geological storage of CO2 or energy storage, was undertaken in this thesis. Vintage seismic reflection data only available as scanned tiff images of the final stacked sections were digitized and processed using modern interpretation software to provide new insights into the morphology of the Arnager Greensand and to analyse the reservoir’s potential as an energy storage unit.
