  1. 6. Predicting Indoor Carbon Dioxide Concentration using Online Machine Learning : Adaptive ventilation control for exhibition halls

    University essay from Jönköping University/Tekniska Högskolan

    Author : Filip Carlsson; Edvin Egerhag; [2022]
    Keywords : CO2 Prediction; CO2 Concentration; Exhibition Halls; Online Machine Learning; Machine Learning; Streaming Data;

    Abstract : A problem that exhibition halls have is the balance between having good indoor air quality andminimizing energy waste due to the naturally slow decrease of CO2 concentration, which causes Heat-ing, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning systems to keep ventilating empty halls when occupants have leftthe vicinity. Several studies have been made on the topic of CO2 prediction and occupancy predictionbased on CO2 for smaller spaces such as offices and schools. READ MORE

  2. 7. Developing a supervised machine learning model for an optimised aluminium addition based on historical data analytics, for clean steelmaking

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Arun Kumar Thakur; [2022]
    Keywords : Clean steelmaking; Data analytics; De-oxidation; Machine learning; Ren ståltillverkning; Dataanalys; Deoxidation; Maskininlärning;

    Abstract : De-oxidation is an important process in clean steelmaking. Al (Aluminium) is mainly used as de-oxidant and controls the final oxygen content and impact the sulphur removal in steel. Adding optimum amount of Al is critical for steel cleanliness and to reduce cost. READ MORE

  3. 8. Estimation of dissolved organic carbon from inland waters using remote sensing data and machine learning

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Lasse Harkort; [2022]
    Keywords : dissolved organic carbon; machine learning; remote sensing; inland waters; water quality; open source data; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the first attempt to estimate Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) in inland waters over a large-scale area using satellite data and machine learning (ML) methods. Four ML approaches, namely Random Forest Regression (RFR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), and a Multilayer Backpropagation Neural Network (MBPNN) were tested to retrieve DOC using a filtered version of the recently published open source AquaSat dataset with more than 16 thousand samples across the continental US matched with satellite data from Landsat 5, 7 and 8 missions. 4. 9. Predicting Carbon Dioxide Levels and Occupancy with Machine Learning and Environmental Data

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för elektroteknik

    Author : Giorgi Datunaishvili; Christian Khederchah; Henrik Li; Salazar Kevin; [2022]
    Keywords : Machine Learning; AI; matlab; prediction; environment; data; data science; neural network; sensor; electrical.;

    Abstract : Buildings consume the majority of the world’s energy usage through heating, ventilation and cooling. These elements are not regulated in an efficient and effective manner. Lights and heating are often left in action in empty spaces leading to waste. READ MORE

  5. 10. Exploring improvements of wind power forecasts using Convolutional Neural Networks and Time Series Analysis

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Author : Jakob Nabialek; [2022]
    Keywords : wind power forecasting; convolutional neural networks; kalman filter; electricity market; day-ahead market; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : Due to environmental considerations, volumes of renewable power production are rapidly growing, and its share of the energy pool is increasing. The inter- mittent nature of wind power, being one of the main renewable energy sources, is a challenge when generating production forecasts. READ MORE
