  1. 1. Exploring a unique pocket in Galectin-8N by the synthesis of D-galactoside-based benzimidazole inhibitors

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Sid Bartold; [2023]
    Keywords : organic chemistry; synthesis; gal; gal-8; gal-8N; galectin; galectin-8; galectin-8N; inhibitor; drug development; benzimidazole; galactoside; carbohydrate; carbohydrate chemistry; Suzuki-coupling; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Galectins are a family of glycan-binding proteins where galectin-8 is a part of the subgroup known as tandem-repeat type galectins. Galectin-8 is composed of two homologous CRDs, one N- and one C-terminal CRD. As it stands now, galectin-8N has been found to bind to a larger number of glycans than galectin-8C. READ MORE

  2. 2. Synthesis and characterization of a greener poly(vinyl acetate) adhesive

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Xiuting Zhang; [2023]
    Keywords : poly vinyl acetate -grafted-chitosan; chitosan; poly vinyl acetate ; ceric ammonium nitrate; green adhesive; poly vinyl acetat -ympad kitosan; poly vinyl acetat ; ceriumammoniumnitrat CAN ; grönt lim;

    Abstract : To produce a greener adhesive is always an issue of concern to the commercial market and global environment. The environmental request for producing greener and bio-based adhesives leads to an increased awareness of replacing fossil-based components in adhesives with bio-based alternatives. READ MORE

  3. 3. ROP in novel biobased ionic liquids towards cellulose functionalization

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Rebecca Mattsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Ionic liquids; SI-ROP; coROP; polyesters; cellulose; Jonvätska; yt-initierad Ringöppnings-polymerisation; ringöppnings-sampolymerisation; polyestrar; cellulosa;

    Abstract : Ett nytt sätt att aktivera cellulosa för kemisk modifiering med hjälp av en miljövänlig process har utvecklats innan starten av detta projekt. Två versionen av den nyskapade betain-baserade jonvätskan, BBIL har syntetiserats, en som använder mesylat som motjon, M-BBIL och en som använder acetat, A-BBIL. READ MORE

  4. 4. BCP Lithography Defined Arrays of InAs NWs Grown Using MOVPE with Au Seeds

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Lunds Tekniska Högskola; Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik

    Author : Björn Landeke-Wilsmark; [2022]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this report we outline a detailed process flow for a quick and inexpensive implementation of large dense arrays of InAs nanowires (NWs) grown in the reactive ion etching/etched (RIE) pores of a SiO2/SiNx mask on top of an InAs/Si(111) substrate. The self-assembled (hexagonally close-packed) pattern of poly(methyl-methacrylate) (PMMA) cylinders in a poly(styrene) (PS) matrix adopted by a linear diblock poly(styrene-block-methyl-methacrylate) P(S-b-MMA) block-copolymer (BCP) was transferred to the dielectric stack (consisting of a ≈10 nm plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition/deposited (PECVD) SiNX layer topped by a thin atomic layer deposition/deposited (ALD) SiO2 film) using a two-step RIE procedure. 5. 5. Evaluation of short peptide epitope regions covering mutations of SARS-CoV-2 receptor binding domain: An ELISA based serological test

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för farmaceutisk biovetenskap

    Author : Jay Persson; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : AbstractSince the first discovery of COVID-19 in late 2019, several millions of people have beeninfected worldwide by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-2). Towards the end of the following year new mutant variants started emerging,namely 20I/501Y.V1, VOC 202012/01, or B.1. READ MORE
