  1. 1. Radar and sea clutter simulation with Unity 3D game engine

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Programvara och system

    Author : Mikael Johnsson; Linus Bergman; [2023]
    Keywords : radar simulation; sea clutter simulation; game engine; Unity; ray tracing; compute shader; graphics programming; GPU; radarsimulering; sjöklottersimulering; spelmotor; Unity; strålspårning; compute shader; grafisk programmering; GPU;

    Abstract : Game engines are well known for their use in the gaming industry but are starting to have an impact in other areas as well. Architecture, automotive, and the defence industry are today using these engines to visualise and, to some extent, test their products. READ MORE

  2. 2. Performance comparison of WebGPU and WebGL in the Godot game engine

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Fakulteten för datavetenskaper

    Author : Emil Fransson; Jonatan Hermansson; [2023]
    Keywords : Game Engine; Performance Overhead; Rendering; WebGPU; WebGL; Spelmotor; Prestandakostnader; Rendering; WebGPU; WebGL;

    Abstract : Background. For rendering graphics on the web, WebGL has been the standard API to employ over the years. A new technology, WebGPU, has been set to release in 2023 and utilizes many of the novel rendering approaches and features common for the native modern graphics APIs, such as Vulkan. READ MORE

  3. 3. Enhancing Autodesk Maya´s rendering capabilities: : Development and integration of a real-time render plug-in incorporating the extended feature of Toon-Shading

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola

    Author : Zannie Karlsson; Liye Yan; [2023]
    Keywords : Software prototyping; Cel-shading; Shading algorithm; 3D-computer graphics; Non-photorealistic rendering technique;

    Abstract : Background- Autodesk Maya is by its long existence one of the most established 3D-modeling software that enables users to create meshes and the software can handle a majority of processes associated with graphic models, animation, and rendering. Although there are arguably different third-party plug-ins that can be used to enhance the efficiency of Maya. READ MORE

  4. 4. Improving the Accuracy of FFT-based GPGPU Ocean Surface Simulations

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Jacob Eriksson; Joakim Wingård; [2022-12-01]
    Keywords : computer graphics; 3D graphics; real-time rendering; Fourier transform; FFT; simulation; GPGPU; interactive; ocean wave spectrum; oceanography;

    Abstract : In this paper, we explore how the current state of the art in real-time ocean simulations can be improved in terms of simulation accuracy, while preserving performance. Current methods, both in academia and in the industry, simulate an ocean model in frequency space on the GPU, convert said model on an approximately frame-byframe basis to the spatial domain using the Fourier transform, and then read back the resulting heightfield to the CPU as input to the application’s physics engine. Abstract : Mixed Reality (MR) is an emerging paradigm in industry. While MR equipment and software have taken great technological strides in past years, standardized methods and workflows for developing MR systems for industry have not been widely adopted for many tasks. This thesis proposes a dynamic MR system for an assembly process. READ MORE
