  1. 1. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 2. 2. Phase Unwrapping MRI Flow Measurements

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen Vi3

    Author : Mio Liljeblad; [2023]
    Keywords : phase unwrapping; computer vision; cine MRI; NMR; flow measurements; velocity encoding; venc; energy minimization; magnetic resonance; cardiac MRI; sinotubuar junction; pulmonary artery; ascending descending aorta; laplacian algorithm; iterative graph cuts; IGC; sequential tree-reweighted message passing; TRW-S; velocity to noise ratio; VNR; retrospective wrapping; energy formulation;

    Abstract : Magnetic resonance images (MRI) are acquired by sampling the current of induced electromotiveforce (EMF). EMF is induced due to flux of the net magnetic field from coherent nuclear spins with intrinsic magnetic dipole moments. READ MORE

  3. 3. Characterisation of the LYCCA Double-Sided Silicon Strip Detectors

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Author : Marwan Mohamed; [2023]
    Keywords : DSSD LYCCA HISPEC FAIR Characterisation; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : The goal of this thesis work is to describe the methods used and perform comprehensive testing of the Double-Sided Silicon-Strip Detectors (DSSD) prior to their implementation in the Lund-York-Cologne CAlorimeter (LYCCA) detector. In the framework of this project, the DSSD characterisation was carried out to ensure specification compliance prior to their "in-kind contribution" delivery to the HISPEC experiment at the NUSTAR collaboration. 4. 4. A Rule-Based Normalization System for Greek Noisy User-Generated Text

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för lingvistik och filologi

    Author : Marsida Toska; [2020]
    Keywords : nlp; noisy text preprocessing; rule-based; levenshtein; twitter; normalization; Greek;

    Abstract : The ever-growing usage of social media platforms generates daily vast amounts of textual data which could potentially serve as a great source of information. Therefore, mining user-generated data for commercial, academic, or other purposes has already attracted the interest of the research community. READ MORE

  5. 5. Automated noise measurements for very long wavelength infrared detectors

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : David Ramos Santesmases; [2019]
    Keywords : Noise; Infrared detector; QWIP; T2SL; Brus; Infraröd detektor; QWIP; T2SL;

    Abstract : The potential imaging performance of infrared (IR) detectors is dependent on the noise level in the detector pixels. Noise measurements at pixel level can therefore provide basic understanding of the intrinsic limitations of detectors. READ MORE
