  1. 11. Amino Alcohols from Asymmetric Transfer Hydrogenation of α-Amido-β-Keto Esters Possessing Olefins: Formal Total Synthesis of Sphingosine

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Author : Elin Stridfeldt; [2012]
    Keywords : Asymmetric transfer hydrogenation; asymmetric catalysis; anti-β-hydroxy-α-amino ester; Sphingosine; cross metathesis;

    Abstract : In this thesis a methodology to synthesize anti-β-hydroxy-α-amino esters possessing olefins has been investigated. The developed procedures originate from two already established procedures in which α-amido-β-keto esters, which do not contain olefins, has been stereoselectively reduced to the corresponding anti-β-hydroxy-α-amino alcohols via asymmetric transfer hydrogenation coupled with dynamic kinetic resolution. 2. 12. Äggstockscysta hos mjölkkor

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry

    Author : David Nilsson; [2011]
    Keywords : äggstockscysta; brunstcykel; hormonstörning; metabolism;

    Abstract : The presence of cystic ovarian follicles represents an important ovarian dysfunction and is a major cause of reproductive failure in dairy cattle. A cystic ovarian follicle is a persistent follicular-like structure on one or both of the ovaries. READ MORE

  3. 13. TREATMENT OF ODOROUS VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS USING UV/H2O2

    University essay from KTH/Energiprocesser

    Author : Manases Fuh Nguo; [2011]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Odorous volatile organic compounds emissions from fried-food industries posed severed pollution problems both to the workers and the surrounding inhabitants. These industries need to look for cost effective and efficient methods to reduce these emitted gases. READ MORE

  4. 14.   Impact of vehicle exhaust emitted by the combustion of biofuels on human health

    University essay from Sektionen för ekonomi och teknik (SET)

    Author : Luiza Panosyan; [2010]
    Keywords : exhaust; emission; biofuel;

    Abstract :   Introduction: Significant changes in the global ecosystem, together with a potential shortfall in oil resources, have stimulated intense interest in the development of other sources of energy, and most particularly biofuels since these are basically considered to be less harmful to human health than petroleum-based fuels. However, information about the impact of biofuel-derived vehicle emissions on human health is limited and incomplete. READ MORE

  5. 15. Olfactory discrimination of aliphatic 2-ketones and 1-alcohols in South African fur seals (Arctocephalus pusillus pusillus)

    University essay from Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Author : Elin Lord; [2009]
    Keywords : Arctocephalus pusillus; Aliphatic ketones; Aliphatic alcohols; Odor discrimination; Olfaction;

    Abstract : Odor discrimination ability was tested in four female South African fur seals (Arctocephalus pusillus pusillus) using a food-rewarded two-choice instrumental conditioning paradigm. The seals’ ability to distinguish between members of homologous series of aliphatic ketones (2-butanone to 2-heptanone) and alcohols (1-butanol to 1-heptanol) was assessed. READ MORE
