  1. 26. HMMs and LSTMs for On-line Gesture Recognition on the Stylaero Board : Evaluating and Comparing Two Methods

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Artificiell intelligens och integrerade datorsystem

    Author : Sebastian Sibelius Parmbäck; [2019]
    Keywords : HMM; LSTM; AI; GR; ML; ANN; Hidden Markov Model; Long Short Term Memory; Gesture Recognition; Machine Learning; Artificial Neural Network;

    Abstract : In this thesis, methods of implementing an online gesture recognition system for the novel Stylaero Board device are investigated. Two methods are evaluated - one based on LSTMs and one based on HMMs - on three kinds of gestures: Tap, circle, and flick motions. READ MORE

  2. 27. Investigation on Diagnostic Methods of Rotating Machines and Influence Factors Based on Existing Testing Products

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Jiamin He; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis summarizes established methods for electrical diagnostics of the insulationof large rotating electrical machines, i.e. generators and large motorsworking above the low-voltage range. READ MORE

  3. 28. Naïve listeners’ perceptual learning of Chinese tones: The influence of L1 background in prosody and the effect of an auditory-image (AI) training paradigm

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Allmän språkvetenskap; Lunds universitet/Masterprogram: Språk och språkvetenskap

    Author : Lili Wen; [2019]
    Keywords : Tone perception; Tone acquisition; Mandarin 声调感知; Languages and Literatures;

    Abstract : The present perceptual learning study was conducted in an attempt to investigate to which extent naïve listeners’ L1 prosodic background affected their learning performance of a lexical tone language and whether an auditory-image (AI) training paradigm curtailed the online-learning process of lexical tones. Thirty-three Mandarin-naïve Swedish-native listeners (NS listeners) and 33 Mandarin-naïve English-native listeners (NE listeners) participated in a behaviour experiment designed to answer the question of whether native listeners of a pitch accent language (NS listeners) had an advantage over native listeners of a non-tonal non-pitch-accent language (NE listeners) in learning to perceive tones in Mandarin Chinese (MC). 4. 29. Predicting Patient Length Of Stay at Time of Admission Using Machine Learning

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Olle Andersson; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This master thesis investigates the possibility of using machine learning methods to predict patient length of stay at the time of admission to a clinical ward from the emergency department. The main aim of this thesis is to provide a comparative analysis of different algorithms and to suggest a suitable model that can be used in a hospital prediction software. READ MORE

  5. 30. Pac-King : Placement of IR Sensors on Line Following Robot and Construction of a Gripper and Lift

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Tess Antonsson; Sofia Jönsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Mechatronics; Line Following Robot; Infrared sensor; Gripper; Lift; Robotics; Mekatronik; Linjeföljarrobot; Infraröd sensor; Grepp; Lift; Robotik;

    Abstract : Line following robots are a practical mechatronics solution in a world that is becoming more and more automated. With added gripping and lifting abilities, a very versatile robot can be created. The goal of this thesis was to create a prototype that could navigate a black line using infrared sensors whilst gripping and lifting a package. READ MORE
