  1. 1. Affinity of Alpha-Synuclein and Lipid Vesicle Interaction

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Ahmed Masaada; [2019]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Alpha-synuclein is a protein involved in several neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s, where it has been observed to form amyloid fibrils or Lewy bodies. However, how or to what extent alpha-synuclein is involved is not known. READ MORE

  2. 2. A 3D Sub-Surface Characterisation of the Arnager Greensand, South-west Skåne

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Gregory Marcel Davies Jones; [2019]
    Keywords : Arnager Greensand; digitization; depth conversion; reservoir; storage potential;

    Abstract :  A surface characterisation of the Arnager Greensand in south Sweden, a deep saline aquifer found to be suitable for geological storage of CO2 or energy storage, was undertaken in this thesis. Vintage seismic reflection data only available as scanned tiff images of the final stacked sections were digitized and processed using modern interpretation software to provide new insights into the morphology of the Arnager Greensand and to analyse the reservoir’s potential as an energy storage unit. 3. 3. Investigation of graphene and nanocellulose hybrid films as a barrier material in packages

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Jens Bodelsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Nanocellulose; CNF; Graphene; Barrier; Dispersion; graphene nanosheets; coating; sonication; carboxymethylated; polymer technology; polymerteknologi; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In this report, hybrid films of carboxymethylated cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and graphene nanosheets (GNs) have been prepared to evaluate if the GNs can enhance the barrier properties of the CNF films. CNF already possess great barrier properties at low relative humidity (RH) but it is drastically lowered when the RH reaches above 50% due to its strong hydrophilicity of CNF. READ MORE

  4. 4. Möjliga effekter av broar och vattenfall på uttrars rörlighet i Fyrisån

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Ecology

    Author : Kristin Beecken; [2019]
    Keywords : utter; infrastruktur; broar; Fyrisån; barriärer;

    Abstract : Uttern (lutra lutra) klassas idag som nära hotad och antalet individer i Sverige har minskat enda sen 1950-talet. Ett av hoten mot arten är trafiken och man har sett en ökning i trafikdödligheten under flera decennier. READ MORE

  5. 5. Method for tracking orthogonal ribosomes in vivo using MS2coat protein

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Molekylärbiologi

    Author : John Lindström; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Ribosomes are large macromolecules responsible for protein synthesisand they consist of both RNA and proteins. Each ribosome is made of one large and one small subunit. Even though the ribosome is one of the most studied machineries in the cell there is a gap in our understanding of how this macromolecule functions in vivo. READ MORE
