  1. 1. Investigation of graphene and nanocellulose hybrid films as a barrier material in packages

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Jens Bodelsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Nanocellulose; CNF; Graphene; Barrier; Dispersion; graphene nanosheets; coating; sonication; carboxymethylated; polymer technology; polymerteknologi; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In this report, hybrid films of carboxymethylated cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and graphene nanosheets (GNs) have been prepared to evaluate if the GNs can enhance the barrier properties of the CNF films. CNF already possess great barrier properties at low relative humidity (RH) but it is drastically lowered when the RH reaches above 50% due to its strong hydrophilicity of CNF. READ MORE

  2. 2. Möjliga effekter av broar och vattenfall på uttrars rörlighet i Fyrisån

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Ecology

    Author : Kristin Beecken; [2019]
    Keywords : utter; infrastruktur; broar; Fyrisån; barriärer;

    Abstract : Uttern (lutra lutra) klassas idag som nära hotad och antalet individer i Sverige har minskat enda sen 1950-talet. Ett av hoten mot arten är trafiken och man har sett en ökning i trafikdödligheten under flera decennier. READ MORE

  3. 3. Method for tracking orthogonal ribosomes in vivo using MS2coat protein

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Molekylärbiologi

    Author : John Lindström; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Ribosomes are large macromolecules responsible for protein synthesisand they consist of both RNA and proteins. Each ribosome is made of one large and one small subunit. Even though the ribosome is one of the most studied machineries in the cell there is a gap in our understanding of how this macromolecule functions in vivo. READ MORE

  4. 4. LES Modelling of Turbulent Flow Through an Array of Cylinders Using OpenFOAM

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Hanna Isaksson; [2019]
    Keywords : Porous media; OpenFOAM; premeability; LES; packed cylinders; turbulence;

    Abstract : The objective for this master thesis project was to perform simulations for high and low Reynolds number for a porousmedia modelled as quadratic packed cylinders. The simulations were to be performed by using the open source codeOpenFOAM and the turbulence should be modelled by the LES turbulence model in order to resolve details about theturbulence. 5. 5. Effects of Wildfire Burn on Permafrost Landcover and Catchment Hydrology in Manitoba, Canada

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Andreas Andersson; [2019]
    Keywords : wildfire; permafrost; catchment hydrology;

    Abstract : Permafrost is a strongly controlling factor on Arctic hydrology due to its effect on ground permeability, and thus surface and ground water flow paths. As wildfires are increasing in occurrence and magnitude in permafrost regions, they may alter the hydrological regime via permafrost thaw and degradation that increases ground permeability. READ MORE
