  1. 1. Green Numbers in Grey Areas: A study on what methods credit analysts use to integrate incomplete ESG data in the credit rating process

    University essay from Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för redovisning och finansiering

    Author : Erik Voss-Schrader; Gustav Ryhre; [2024]
    Keywords : Credit; Debt; Rating; ESG; Epistemic;

    Abstract : In response to the urgent need to address global warming, this study investigates the efforts of two credit rating agencies (CRAs), Aries and Orion, to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into their financial analyses amidst challenges posed by inconsistent and unstandardized data. Based on interviews with nine CRA representatives and Knorr Cetina's theory of epistemic cultures, the present study reveals the difficulties faced by the CRAs with directly linking ESG factors to credit ratings. 4. 4. How to fail successfully: the struggles of PAR within academia

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Filosofiska fakulteten; Linköpings universitet/Tema Genus

    Author : Dimitra Moustaka; [2023]
    Keywords : Participatory action research PAR ; decolonial research; asylum interview; coloniality of the academy; intersectionality; self-reflectivity;

    Abstract : This research seeks to explore the origins and values of participatory action research, as well as its role in transforming possibilities to knowledge production and shaping equal relationships between research participants. Drawing from the theoretical frameworks of intersectionality and decoloniality and with a focus on the experience of the asylum interview, the research seeks to explore the ways that those epistemological paradigms intertwine with participatory research to deconstruct the dichotomy between researcher and research subject (expert/community) and re-balance the power differentials embedded within academia, canonical knowledge production and traditional research methodologies, to initiate change. 5. 5. First principles investigation of the thermal conductivity of Zr, ZrC, and ZrN

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Daniel Karlsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Electron-phonon interaction; Density functional theory; Boltzmann transport equation; first-principles; thermal conductivity; electrical resistivity; Abinit; Phono3py; Elektron-fononväxelverkan; täthetsfunktionalteori; Boltzmanns transportekvation; värmeledningsförmåga; elektrisk resistivitet; Abinit; Phono3py;

    Abstract : The thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of Zr, ZrC, and ZrN were calculated using first-principles density functional theory (DFT) and the Boltzmann transport equation. The electron-phonon scattering was modeled via the self-energy relaxation time approximation (SERTA), and the phonon-phonon scattering via the analogous single-mode relaxation time approximation (SMRTA).
