U&I – The interactive lamp for a long-term relationship

Abstract: This project aims to design a lamp which can create an emotional relation between the user and their product and thereby, in the end, create a type of sustainability. The research focuses on the field emotional design and brings forth six factors which should be considered while designing for emotional sustainability. To search for the final shape of the product, a workshop was performed, where the goal was to study the participant´s connection to their emotions through shapes, but also came to influence a new way of saving energy that for now is being called The human way. Throughout the whole project, people with specialized knowledge in different fields have been there to open up for this product to become something new and exciting. The end result called U&I is a lamp which aimed for a long-term relationship with its user where every part of it exists for a particular reason of purpose, all coming back to the six factors of emotional sustainability.
