Abstract: Biodiversity plays a crucial role in global sustainability. Its decline, due to overexploitation and the inadequacy of existing strategies calls for innovative approaches. In recent years, the link between biodiversity and business strategy has gained focus, with many researchers emphasizing companies' role in its protection. This thesis aims to identify factors facilitating and hindering companies' transition to nature positive biodiversity impacts. It assesses how companies contribute to biodiversity and offers recommendations for improvement, considering sustainability strategies and management models. The study also reveals barriers to adopting biodiversity-centric actions and suggests innovative ideas that could enable a nature positive transition, focusing on the wind energy sector. A key outcome of the study is the development of a biodiversity action framework. This framework presents four stages corresponding to varying biodiversity levels; no action, mitigation, no net loss and nature positive. Its main purpose is to guide companies in identifying their current biodiversity status and implementing suggested actions in the framework, facilitating better decision-making. Finally, this study also identifies and presents numerous tools and services for environmental consultation firms. These can either be directly applied as products or serve as an innovative base for creating additional solutions.
