Abstract: Background: Chronic kidney disease is a global health problem with complex symptoms and different underlying causes. Little is known about chronic kidney disease in Zambia, and even less is known about nursing care related to chronic kidney disease in Zambia.Aim: The aim of this study was to describe nursing care related to chronic kidney disease in Zambia.Method: This study was conducted with a qualitative approach. Data were collected by interviews and analyzed with content analysis. The interviews were conducted at Livingstone College of Nursing and Midwifery in Livingstone in Zambia.Result: The findings showed the complexity and difficulties encountered in managing patients diagnosed with CKD in Zambia. The outcome of nursing care resulted upon environmental factors, the patient’s economy, and cultural factors, with adaptation being a vital component of the process.Conclusion: The intricacy involved in providing education and implementing health-promoting interventions demands an ability to adapt to factors besides the patient’s condition. Socio-economic factors and where the patient lives require adaptation and different approaches when planning nursing care.Keywords: Chronic kidney disease, minor field study, nursing care, Zambia
