Abstract: In this diploma work, a technique for digital reconstruction of 3D objects is presented. By using an ordinary digital camera, a turntable and a green screen a method of scanning objects and recreate them as digital 3D models is explained. This technique is based on deriving depth from images using stereo matching methods. When the depth of a scene is obtained, a volume corresponding to the scanned object can be reconstructed. This volume is later on textured with its original textures and presented as a digital reconstruction. Using only a sparse set of images, new and unique views of the object can be obtained.
