    Abstract : The pace of development in aviation technology is increasing, and there is a constantneed for new concepts to keep up. An innovative concept is desired to reach the netzero emission and sustainability target visualized in Flight path 2050. READ MORE

  3. 3. Improving Aircraft Fuel Consumption Prediction through Ensemble Learning

    University essay from KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanik

    Author : Hanlin Gongzhang; [2022]
    Keywords : Aeronautics; Commercial Aircraft; Aircraft fuel consumption; Flight data; Aircraft performance model; Aircraft fuel consumption modelling; Weighted average ensemble; Machine learning; Flygteknik; Kommersiellt flyg; Flygplanens bränsleförbrukning; Flygdata; Flygplanens prestandamodell; Flygplans förbrukningsmodellering; Viktad medelvärdesensemble; Maskininlärning;

    Abstract : Performance models provided by aircraft manufacturers are used by aircraft operators to perform flight path simulations aiming to reduce aircraft fuel consumption. However, performance models are generic and does not account for the performance deviations of each aircraft individual. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development and Use of System Modeler 6DOF Flight Mechanics Model in Aircraft Conceptual Design

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Fluida och mekatroniska system

    Author : Niko Erä-Esko; [2022]
    Keywords : Aircraft Conceptual Design; Flight Mechanics; Modelling and Simulation;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a tool for conceptual design of a traditional configuration aircraft by using a parametric six degrees of freedom (6DOF) flight mechanics model implemented in the Modelica Language using Wolfram System Modeler. Being first only able to model and simulate the uncontrolled flight of an aircraft with fixed mass and centre of gravity (CG), and requiring detailed aerodynamic parameters as an input, the 6DOF model is improved by developing new features to reduce the number of required inputs while also increasing the data output of the simulations. 5. 5. Modelling and Simulation of a Propulsive Hybridisation for a Light Fixed-wing Aircraft

    University essay from KTH/Flygdynamik

    Author : Axel Yezeguelian; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Propulsive hybridisation fits in with the sustainable development policies of many companies which are part of the transportation industry. Actually, it makes it possible either to reduce fuel consumption or to improve the aircraft performance at a fixed fuel burn. READ MORE
