  1. 11. Rb-Sr sphalerite data and implications for the source and timing of Pb-Zn deposits at the Caledonian margin in Sweden

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Alfred Larsson; [2018]
    Keywords : Laisvall; Granberget; geochronology; sphalerite; ore; Rb-Sr; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The eastern Caledonian erosional front hosts the world-class Pb-Zn deposit at Laisvall (64 Mt mined) and Granberget mineralization, northern Sweden, along with several other smaller, related types of deposits consisting of impregnation mineralization of galena and sphalerite in clastic host rocks. Previous work have discussed the nature of the ore-forming processes and constraints for the timing of the mineralization, however, the mechanisms are still not fully understood and previous age determinations are ambiguous. 2. 12. Performance analysis and validation of high-temperature cooling panels in passive geothermal system

    University essay from KTH/Hållbara byggnader

    Author : Carlos JImenez Lopez; [2018]
    Keywords : Heat Transfer; High Temperature Cooling; Cooling Radiant Ceiling Panels; Computational Fluid Dynamics; HVAC Systems; Cooling Capacity.;

    Abstract : High Temperature Cooling, HTC, is a thermal conditioning strategy, which aims to reducemixing and transfer heat losses. Cooling capacity strongly depends on heat transfer coefficientsand offers a great response and several advantages in terms of efficiency and sustainability. READ MORE

  3. 13. μLEDs for optogenetics

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Lukas Wendt; [2018]
    Keywords : μLED; microLED; optogenetics; nitrides; platelets; LNL; epilepsy; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Optogenetics is unfolding new ways for us to study the nervous system and could one day be a standard approach to treat neurological diseases like epilepsy. To selectively study the effects on a subcellular level, microscopic light sources are needed. READ MORE

  4. 14. Magmatic Sources and Processes Recorded by the Volcanics from the Izu Bonin Rear Arc

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : John Owen Edgar; [2017]
    Keywords : Izu-Bonin; plagioclase; magma; strontium; thermobarometry; rear arc; Izu-Bonin; plagioklas; magma; strontium; termobarometri; bakbåge;

    Abstract : The Izu rear-arc volcanism was investigated by IODP EXP350 in spring 2014. A total stratigraphy of1800 m was drilled, and contains volcaniclastic material within tuffaceous mudstone. READ MORE

  5. 15. Optimisation-friendly modelling of thermodynamic properties of media

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för reglerteknik

    Author : Marcus Åberg; [2016]
    Keywords : Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The use of dynamic modelling and simulation of thermal power systems has grown recent years and as the performance of computers have increased optimisation of such systems has become possible. When performing such optimisations, there are high numerical requirements on the model used in the system. READ MORE
