  1. 41. Identification of metabolite-protein interactions among enzymes of the Calvin Cycle in a CO2-fixing bacterium

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Emil Sporre; [2020]
    Keywords : Cupriavidus necator; chemolithoautotroph; limited proteolysis; Calvin Cycle; carbon fixation; proteomics; allosteric regulation; metabolite-protein interactions.;

    Abstract : The Calvin – Benson cycle is the most widespread metabolic pathway capable of fixing CO2 in nature and a target of very high interest to metabolic engineers worldwide. In this study, 12 metabolites (ATP, AMP, NADP, NADPH, 2PG, 3PGA, FBP, RuBP, PEP, AKG, Ac-CoA and phenylalanine) were tested for protein – metabolite interactions against the proteome of Cupriavidus necator (previously Ralstonia eutropha) in the hopes of finding potential examples of allosteric regulation of the Calvin – Benson cycle. 2. 42. Method Development for Sample Preparation of Fish for Non-target Analysis of Hydrophobic Organic Pollutants

    University essay from Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Author : Bergdís Björk Bæringsdóttir; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Monitoring methods for environmental pollutants are mostly performed with targeted analysis which relies on predetermined compounds. This can cause an underestimation of possible toxicants as it might not detect undiscovered compounds such as breakdown products of other chemicals. READ MORE

  3. 43. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry of Volatile Organic Compounds from four Species of Grass Extracts from known Oviposition sites for Malaria Vectors

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Cagenna Linne Magendran; Felicia Karlahag; Amanda Hamrin; Madeleine Lövås; [2020]
    Keywords : VOC; SPE; UAE; terpener; malariavektor;

    Abstract : Tidigare studier har visat att äggläggande malariavektorer attraheras till vissa flyktiga organiska ämnen (VOC) som finns i olika gräsarter. Syftet med den här studien var att verifiera att flyktiga organiska ämnen finns i fyra olika gräsarter från Kenya; Panicum repens,Cynodon dactylon och Cyperus papyrus med Pennisetum setaceum rubrum som kontroll förde andra gräsarterna. 4. 44. Development of a Water Activity Control and Reaction Monitoring System for Acidolysis and Transesterification Reactions using Immobilized Lipases in a Rotating Bed Reactor

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master); Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (CI)

    Author : Eimantas Gladkauskas; [2019]
    Keywords : Enzyme; Enzymes; Immobilized enzyme; bioreactor; rotating bed reactor; acidolysis; transesterification; arduino; water activity; thermodynamic water activity; Enzyme activity; automatic reaction tracking; reaction tracking; biotechnology; electrical engineering; relative humidity; spinchem; enzymatic synthesis; water activity control; process automation; lipases; lipase; bioteknik; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Controlled water activity in an enzymatic reaction can influence enzyme activity and productivity. A small layer of water around an enzyme gives it a required flexibility to catalyze reactions at a higher rate in contrast with the one that is dry (Adlercreutz, Dicko, Larsson, & Månsson, 2017). 5. 45. Making wood durable. A sustainable approachwith linseed oil

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Helena Olsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Linseed oil; Wood preservation; Nuclear Magnetic Resonance NMR ; Diffusion Ordered Spectroscopy DOSY ; Time-resolved oxidation study; Linolja; Bevarande träbehandling; Nuclear Magnetic Resonance NMR ; Diffusion Ordered Spectroscopy DOSY ; Oxidationstidsstudie;

    Abstract : Linseed oil has been and is used for vast number of applications, such as in food and paint industry, and wood preservation. It is a good environmental choice, as it originates from renewable sources. Linseed oil is mainly a mixture of triglyceride of fatty acids, both saturated and mono- or polyunsaturated, which allows the oil to oxidize. READ MORE
