  1. 26. Drivers of sea level variability using neural networks

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Linn Carlstedt; [2023-05-10]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Understanding the forcing of regional sea level variability is crucial as many people all over the world live along the coasts and are endangered by extreme sea levels and the global sea level rise. The adding of fresh water into the oceans due to melting of the Earth’s land ice together with thermosteric changes has led to a rise of the global mean sea level with an accelerating rate during the twentieth century. 2. 27. COMPLEXITY & RANDOMNESS Exploring the Limits of Pattern Perception

    University essay from Institutionen för tillämpad informationsteknologi

    Author : Beppe Rådvik; Joel Pettersson; [2023-02-01]
    Keywords : pattern perception; complexity; randomness; Aksentijevic-Gibson complexity; Visual short-term memory;

    Abstract : Pattern perception is a core part of human cognition, however, our capacity to process patterns is limited. If a pattern is too complex to process, we no longer perceive it as a pattern but rather as noise, thus we hypothesize that there is a limit to human pattern perception that can be measured in terms of the complexity of the pattern. 3. 28. The Convention on the Rights of the Child in practice: Social workers’ experience and acting space when implementing the Convention within the City of Gothenburg

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för globala studier

    Author : Emelie Ekbrand; [2023-01-26]
    Keywords : Convention on the Rights of the Child; implementation; social workers; children’s rights; acting space;

    Abstract : The aim with this thesis is to examine how social workers, who work in short-term and long term residential housing activities within the City of Gothenburg and meet children in their work with adults, experience the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in practice, and their perceived circumstances related to opportunities and obstacles regarding the implementation of CRC. As such, the research question that guided the aim are: How do social worker experience that CRC works in practice? What are the social workers own experience regarding interacting and caring communicating with the children they meet? How do social workers as street-level bureaucrats experience their own acting space when working with CRC in practice? The thesis gives new insight into how children´s rights are met at different levels within the City of Gothenburg, as most previous research has focussed on social secretaires experience of the implementation of the convention, looking at social workers experience can help to get an insight into how the convention are established at different levels. 4. 29. Primary Drivers of Sea Level Variability in the North – Baltic Sea Transition Using Machine Learning

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : David Ek; [2023-01-09]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Global mean sea level is rising, however not uniformly. Regional deviations of sea surface height (SSH) are common due to local drivers, including surface winds, ocean density stratifications, vertical land- & crustal movements and more. READ MORE

  5. 30. Heart rate estimation from wrist-PPG signals in activity by deep learning methods

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Marie-Ange Stefanos; [2023]
    Keywords : Deep Learning; Medical Data; Signal Processing; Heart Rate Estimation; Wrist Photoplethysmography; Djup lärning; Medicinska Data; Signalbehandling; Pulsuppskattning; Handledsfotopletysmograf;

    Abstract : In the context of health improving, the measurement of vital parameters such as heart rate (HR) can provide solutions for health monitoring, prevention and screening for certain chronic diseases. Among the different technologies for HR measuring, photoplethysmography (PPG) technique embedded in smart watches is the most commonly used in the field of consumer electronics since it is comfortable and does not require any user intervention.
