  1. 1. Life cycle assessment of metal laser powder bed fusion : A deep dive into the significance of system boundary expansion and improvement potential

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Industriell miljöteknik

    Author : Christian Rotter; Erik Fagerberg; [2023]
    Keywords : additive manufacturing; life cycle assessment; powder bed fusion; system boundaries; metal laser powder bed fusion; environmental impact; global warming potential;

    Abstract : Metal additive manufacturing (MAM) is a manufacturing technology experiencing a rapid expansion rate. Metal laser powder bed fusion (ML-PBF) is among the most popular techniques in this field. The environmental implications of it are often discussed in literature and compared to conventional manufacturing. READ MORE

  2. 2. Additively Manufactured Rare Earth Free Permanent Magnets

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap; Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : Himesha Abenayake; [2023]
    Keywords : additive manufacturing; MnAl; MnAl C ; rare earth free permanent magnets; selective laser melting; SLM; MnAl-based permanent magnets;

    Abstract : It’s well known that MnAl(C) material consists of a metastable phase (τ) with promising ferromagnetic properties, produced either by controlled cooling from the high-temperature hexagonal ε-phase or rapid cooling that freezes the ε-phase followed by low-temperature annealing. Due to the high cooling rates involved, additive manufacturing (AM) especially selective laser melting (SLM), has been identified as a possible method to retain the high-temperature ε-phase, hence containing a potential capacity to produce permanent magnets upon low-temperature annealing. 3. 3. Modified cellulose synthesized by different deep eutectic solvents as an additive in paper making process

    University essay from Karlstads universitet

    Author : Shiniar Said Saleh; [2023]
    Keywords : green chemistry; dry strength additives; deep eutectic solvents; sodium periodate oxidation; charge density; dewatering; mechanical strength.;

    Abstract : The environmental concerns that come with the currently used traditional papermaking process where petroleum-based additives are used, has tempted researchers to study “green” additives by introducing environmentally friendly modifications of cellulose as an additive in the papermaking process. This thesis will spin further on that by producing additives with different charge densities and focus on to incorporate an etherification reaction into potentially greens systems based on non-toxic and readily biodegradable deep eutectic solvent (DES). 4. 4. Geomechanical testing of non-hardening grout : for determination of flowability and strength properties

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Geoteknologi

    Author : Axel Barrdahl; [2022]
    Keywords : Non-hardening; Grout; Embankment dam; Repair; Fall cone; Uniaxial Compressive Strength; UCS; Triaxial;

    Abstract : Due to an increasing amount of aging tendencies in Swedish embankment dams, failures such as internal erosion has become a more common problem. Internal erosion is a phenomenon where certain soil material within the embankment dam is removed, often over a longer period of time. READ MORE

  5. 5. Silage quality of grass and red clover-dominated forages as affected by particle size and additive, when ensiled at different dry-matter concentrations

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Animal Environment and Health

    Author : Malin Hamberg; [2021]
    Keywords : additive content; dry matter; particle size; silage quality;

    Abstract : Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka effekterna av partikelstorlek samt typ och dosering av kemiska tillsatser på ensilagekvalitet och lagringsstabilitet hos klöverdominerat ensilage och gräsensilage vid två torrsubstans (TS)-halter. Partikelstorlekarna var ca 24 cm för långt ensilage och ca 5 cm för hackat ensilage. READ MORE
