  1. 1. Modeling the penetration of fragmented shaped charge jets

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Materialfysik

    Author : Alexander Palfelt; [2023]
    Keywords : Shaped charge; Analytical penetration model; Visualization; Riktad sprängverkan; RSV; Analytisk penetrationsmodell; Visualisering;

    Abstract : The penetration power of a shaped charge is an important characteristic in determining its capability. A model has previously been developed by FOI to analytically predict the penetration of a shaped charge jet striking a target at varying stand-off distances. READ MORE

  2. 2. Processing of ERT data from Stabilised Columns

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk geologi; Lunds universitet/Väg- och vattenbyggnad (CI)

    Author : Mårten Petersson; [2023]
    Keywords : inversion; ERT; quality control; jet grouting; aarhusinv; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Modern construction sites are associated with high demands on suitable soil conditions, resulting in geotechnical challenges that can be solved using soil stabilisation techniques. The reliability of these techniques is tested using different quality assurance methods. READ MORE

  3. 3. Comparing different methods of measuring particle size for pharmaceutical excipients

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Jiawen Wang; [2022]
    Keywords : particle size; comparison; Malvern analysis; Qicpic analysis; Pharmaceutical technology; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In pharmaceutical science, particle size is one of the most fundamental parameters of materials, but different particle-sizing analysis methods lack a uniform standard for measuring irregular particle size, making it difficult to compare the accuracy and applicability of different particle-sizing analysis methods. Experiments on excipients used in pharmaceuticals are carried out in this paper by laser diffraction analysis (Malvern wet and dry), dynamic image analysis (Qicpic), and microscopic methods (Qicpic, SEM, and light microscopy) to determine the applicability and limitations of each method, as well as to clarify their advantages and disadvantages. 4. 4. Investigation of Autoencoders for Jet Images in Particle Physics

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Author : Jessica Lastow; [2021]
    Keywords : data compression; anomaly detection; jet image; autoencoder; dark matter; machine learning; ATLAS; hadron jet; particle physics; high energy physics; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Dark matter is an invisible type of matter believed to make up 85 % of the matter in the universe, but it has not yet been identified by experiments. According to certain particle physics theories, possible signatures of dark matter are so-called dark jets. They are the dark matter equivalent to classic jets, i.e collimated streams of particles. 5. 5. Understanding the Effect of Isothermal Heat Treatments on Microstructure of LMD-w Titanium Alloy (Ti-6242) - As-Built microstructure

    University essay from Högskolan Väst/Avdelningen för avverkande och additativa tillverkningsprocesser (AAT)

    Author : Prakruth Harish; [2020]
    Keywords : Ti 6242; LMD-w; Isothermal transformation diagrams; Microstructure of Ti 624;

    Abstract : The most widely used titanium alloy in the hot sections of a jet engine is Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo (Ti-6242) and with the technological advancements additive manufacturing (AM) of Ti-6242 is of great interest. Although, there is not much published related to additively manufactured Ti-6242. READ MORE
