  1. 21. Impact of pulp chemical composition and fiber morphology on hygroexpansion and strength properties of kraftliner

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Author : Serdar Unal; [2023]
    Keywords : Chemical Engineering; Hygroexpansion; Pulp; Kraftliner; Tensile strength; Iso-brightness; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Kraftliner is the unbleached pulp used in the outermost layer of corrugated cardboard. Like other types of paper, it is produced from wood chips as a raw material. Kraftliner is known for its high tensile strength, tear resistance, compressive strength, etc., making it suitable for packaging material for heavy objects. READ MORE

  2. 22. A plant-based milk powder that functions as a substitution for regular milk powder

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Manon Scheffers; [2023]
    Keywords : spray drying; pant- based milk powder alternative; pea protein; food application; food engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This project tested the potential of plant based milk powders to function as an animal-based milk powder by testing them on multiple characteristics. The powders were produced using spray drying techniques, obtained using formulations differentiating in protein amount, ratio of maltodextrin:sucrose and two different protein sources. READ MORE

  5. 25. Prediction of flue gas properties using artificial intelligence : Application of supervised machine learning by utilization of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy on solid biofuels

    University essay from Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Author : Bashe Abdirahman Hussein; Emran Samimi; [2022]
    Keywords : Artificial Intelligence; Machine learning; Near-Infrared spectroscopy; Solid biofuels; Fuel element; Flue gas composition; CCS;

    Abstract : This degree project studies implementation and comparison of different AI models to predict (1) solid biofuel elements including carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen as well as moisture content, ash content, and higher heating value (HHV) of the fuel and (2) flue gas compositions such as concentration of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen, nitrogen oxides, and water content using near-infrared spectroscopy and chemometric approaches. The study executes these predictions by simulating the operation of a combined heat and power plant (CHP) that is equipped with carbon capture and storage (CCS). READ MORE
