  1. 1. Measuring copper abundances in the Galactic Bulge

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Astrofysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Nikolei Höglinger; [2024]
    Keywords : Copper; Galaxy: abundances; Galaxy: bulge; Chemical Evolution; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Context: The chemical evolution of Cu in the Galactic bulge have been studied in a few studies using red giant branch stars, but the ages of individual red giant stars are difficult to determine. In addition, the bulge has been a challenging region of the Milky Way galaxy to obtain high-resolution spectra of stars, except when observing through certain few small fields into the bulge that are known to have low extinction. 2. 2. The quest for a classical bulge - a study of kinematics, abundances, and ages using microlensed dwarf stars and Gaia

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Astrofysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Calum Kvernes Macpherson; [2023]
    Keywords : Bulge; Milky Way; Kinematics; Galpy; Dwarf Stars; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Context: We present an kinematical analysis of 90 F and G type dwarf, turn-off, and subgiant stars in the Galactic bulge. These stars were observed with high-resolution spectrographs during gravitational microlensing events This allowed for their ages, abundances, and radial velocities to be ascertained while they were significantly brighter. 3. 3. BMA / BEURA : Evolving inhabitation through self-building and adaptive reuse

    University essay from KTH/Urbana och regionala studier

    Author : Karl Hedin; [2023]
    Keywords : Self-building; adaptive reuse; circular construction; Bromma airport; dynamic plotting; Självbyggeri; återbruk; cirkulär konstruktion; Bromma flygplats; dynamisk plottning;

    Abstract : My thesis, "BMA (Bromma airport) / BEURA (Bromma experimental urban recycling association), an adaptive rebirth", explores the potential for an evolution of self-built circular inhabitation on the airport runway of Bromma through adaptive reuse and circular construction. The Bromma Airport in Stockholm is set to cease operation by 2038, leaving behind a vast expanse of infrastructure that could be repurposed for other uses. READ MORE

  4. 4. A quantitative analysis of plume gas distributions from different detection studies on Europa

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Anujan Ranganathan; [2023]
    Keywords : Europa; Water; Plume distribution; Surface Density; Column Density; Total number of molecules; Europa; Vatten; Plym Distribution; Ytdensitet; Kolumndensitet; Total mängd molekyler;

    Abstract : The search for water has been vital in our solar system as water indicates a potential for life. The search has been extended to satellites orbiting the outer planets. It has already been proven that water exists on Saturn’s moon, Enceladus, where the spacecraft Cassini did a flyby through a water plume. READ MORE

  5. 5. Implementing Total Electron Content in the Grand Unifed Incoherent Scattering Design and Analysis Program for Investigation of Causes to Scintillations

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Author : Samuel Sonesson; [2023]
    Keywords : Total Electron Content; Scintillation; Incoherent Scattering; Ionosphere;

    Abstract : Functionality for calculating and plotting diferent Total Electron Content (TEC) measurements such as Slant Total Electron Content (sTEC), error in sTEC, and VerticalTotal Electron Content (vTEC) was implemented into the data analysis program fromEuropean Incoherent Scattering Scientifc Association (EISCAT), the Grand Unifed Incoherent Scattering Design and Analysis Program (GUISDAP). This utilises a thin-singlelayer model of the ionosphere to convert sTEC into the more analytically useful vTEC. READ MORE
