  1. 21. Enhancing Sensing in Nanoscale: Investigation of Smart Nanomechanical Cantilever Array

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Hiruy Michael Weldegiorgish; [2022]
    Keywords : Cantilever; AFM; Biosensor; Piezoresistive sensor; Piezoelectric actuator; Kantilever; AFM; Biosensor; Piezo -resistorer; Piezo-elektiska pådrivare;

    Abstract : In this report, a novel smart nanocantilever with self-deflection sensor using embedded piezo-resistor and self-actuation using integrated piezo-electric actuator is proposed, designed and simulated to enable highly sensitive label free biosensor and ultra-short cantilever probe for AFM applications. The smart nanocantilever comprises of a triangular Si3N4 nanocantilever (10µm long, 400nm width and 100nm thickness) connected to a multi-layer support structure (Si3N4 (100nm)/PZT (100nm)) having n-type silicon piezo resistor (7µm long ,2µm width and 20nm thickness) embedded in the Si3N4 layer in both the support structure and nanocantilever. 2. 22. Requirements and Analysis of an Overload Protection Mechanism for an Electromechanical Linear Actuator

    University essay from KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Inst.)

    Author : Mats Vesterberg; [2022]
    Keywords : EMA; Electromechanical Actuator; Linear Actuator; Shock load; Protection mechanism; Elektromekaniska ställdon; Linjära ställdon; Shocklaster; Överlastskydd;

    Abstract : Cascade Drives specializes in high-performance electromechanical linear actuators (EMA). The company has developed a range of linear rack and pinion actuators based on a patented load distribution technique that allows multiple pinions to interact with a single gear rack. READ MORE

  3. 23. Weight prediction of flight control subsystem

    University essay from KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanik

    Author : Joel Lundahl; [2022]
    Keywords : Aeronautical engineering; aircraft; fighter jet; flight control system; FCS; weight prediction; early weight prediction; hydraulic system; control surfaces; actuator; subsystem; weight estimation; Flygteknik; flygplan; militärflygplan; stridsflygplan; styrsystem; viktprediktering; tidig viktprediktering; hydraulsystem; styrroder; styraktuatorer; aktuator; delsystem; viktuppskattning; metod;

    Abstract : A common dilemma in aircraft design is the importance of knowing weight characteristics at early design stages, since sizing of many important components is dependent on these. Yet precise weight data cannot be determined until the aircraft and its subsystems have been designed in detail. READ MORE

  4. 24. Breathe Like a Singer : Facilitating singers’ breath practice with a wearable haptic garment

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informatik och media

    Author : Lovisa von Heijne; [2022]
    Keywords : Breathing; singing; haptic wearable; soma design; defining use; experiential qualities;

    Abstract : There has been a recent increase in breathing as an activity within HCI; however, breathing as the source of voice has not been explored. This thesis explores how ADA (air-driven actuator), a haptic wearable garment, may be used by singers to connect with their breath. READ MORE

  5. 25. Design and Development of a Force-Regulated Hexapod Leg

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Innovation

    Author : Adam Langer; [2022]
    Keywords : Stewart; Platform; Stewart Platform; Hexapod; Parallel; Kinematic; Machine; Parallel Kinematic Machine; PKM; Design; Cognibotics; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In this thesis a concept for a new leg construction, for a force regulated Stewart Platform called Hexapod, was created. The design process for this concept was split into three major parts: the actuator, joints, and the frameless motor, which make up the dynamic elements, the legs, that move the Hexapod. READ MORE
