  1. 6. Cellobiose dehydrogenase from Clonostachys rosea: Production, purification and activity analysis

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Strukturbiologi

    Author : Terese Larsson; [2021]
    Keywords : cellobiose dehydrogenase; CDH; Clonostachys rosea; DCIP assay;

    Abstract : Biological control agents are a promising niche to replace chemical pesticides for treating plant pathogens in agriculture. A potential biocontrol agent is the microparasitic fungi Clonostachys rosea which has the ability to attack various plant pathogens such as other fungi and nematodes. READ MORE

  2. 7. Fragment-screening by X-ray crystallography of human vaccinia related kinase 1

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Author : Yousif Ali Rashid Majid; [2020]
    Keywords : Fragment based drug discovery; X-ray crystallography; screening; vaccinia related kinase 1; crystal optimization; fragment library design; differential scanning fluorimetry; Sprint Bioscience;

    Abstract : Fragment-screening by X-ray crystallography (XFS) is an expensive and low throughput fragment drug discovery screening method, and it requires a lot of optimization for each protein target. The advantages with this screening method are that it is very sensitive, it directly gives the three-dimensional structure of the protein-fragment complexes, and false positives are rarely obtained. 3. 8. Characterization of the fusion protein mNG-Aβ1-42 as a fluorescence reporter probe for amyloid structure

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Author : Linnéa Fredén; [2020]
    Keywords : Alzheimer’s Disease AD ; Amyloids; ; fusion protein; mNeonGreen; mNG-Aβ1-42; Crystallization; mouse brain tissue; human brain tissue; amyloid fluorescent probes;

    Abstract : Alzheimer’s Disease, also called AD, is a horrible, degenerative brain disease that more than 35 million people over the world have. Today, there is no cure for this disease, only treatments that are temporarily relieving the symptoms. The two proteins that is thought to be the main cause of AD is amyloid β (Aβ) and tau. Abstract : This report summarizes the work on the cloning, expression, and purification of PerR, a metal sensing regulator from Saccharopolyspora erythraea and the subsequent characterization using small angle X-ray scattering and other biochemical methods. The report aims to provide an insight into prokaryotic metal homeostasis, provide a better understanding of how PerR works and provide valuable information for the continued work on the crystallization of PerR. 5. 10. Characterization of DNA binding of the two zinc finger domains of transcription factor zBED6

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Author : Alexander Taubert; [2019]
    Keywords : transcription factor; zinc finger; zBED6;

    Abstract : The zinc finger protein, zBED6, is a transcriptional regulator of IGF2 along with hundreds of other genes relating to development and growth. Studies on the growth of commercially bred pigs discovered a single nucleotide substitution in the third intron of IGF2 which disrupts the binding of zBED6 and is responsible for the three-fold upregulation of IGF2 in skeletal muscle.
