  1. 6. Aspects of erosion of restored trout spawning beds in two streams in Northern Sweden

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Author : Frida Michelle Granlund; [2021]
    Keywords : in-stream restoration; reproductive habitat; salmonids; passive integrated transponders tags PIT-tags ;

    Abstract : Many rivers and streams in northern Sweden have been channelized due to timber floating. This has severely degraded the spawning habitats for salmon and trout, and therefore a common action when restoring channelized rivers is to establish new spawning beds by adding gravel to the streambed. 2. 7. Optimization of laser powder bed fusion process parameters for 316L stainless steel

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : William Hahne; [2021]
    Keywords : Additive manufacturing; Stainless steel; 316L; Laser powder bed fusion; Powder bed fusion; Build rate; Powder layer thickness;

    Abstract : The interest for additive manufacturing techniques have in recent years increased considerably because of their association to good printing resolution, unique design possibilities and microstructure. In this master project, 316L stainless steel was printed using metal laser powder bed fusion in an attempt to find process parameters which yield good productivity while maintaining as good material properties as possible. 3. 8. Studying magmatic systems through chemical analyses on clinopyroxene - a look into the history of the Teno ankaramites, Tenerife

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Vendela Haag; [2020]
    Keywords : clinopyroxene; sector zoning; concentric zoning; mass wasting; magma recharge; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Clinopyroxenes have the ability to crystallize over and respond to a large range of temperatures, pressures and chemical compositions, and thus, they are ideal for studies regarding the history of magmatic systems. In this thesis, the chemistry and zoning of four clinopyroxene crystals from an ankaramite sample from the Teno massif, Tenerife, were analysed. READ MORE

  4. 9. Generation and Characterization of Intense Attosecond Pulses

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Marius Plach; [2020]
    Keywords : Attosecond physics; high-order harmonic generation; high harmonic generation; HHG; attosecond pulses; molecular dynamics; attosecond pulse generation; harmonic emission time delay; temporal reconstruction of attosecond pulses; strong field processes; Three-step model; RABBIT; Reconstruction of Attosecond Beating By Interference of Two-photon Transition; Terawatt Laser System; Intense XUV Beamline; XUV; LLC; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Research on ultrafast dynamics in atoms and molecules requires short pulses. In order to resolve processes taking place on a femtosecond timescale sufficiently, these pulses require a duration on the attosecond time scale. READ MORE

  5. 10. Characterization of Heat Treated LMwD Ti-6Al-4V to Study the Effect of Cooling Rate on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Emil Edin; [2019]
    Keywords : Ti-6Al-4V; LMwD; Characterization; Alpha Laths;

    Abstract : In this work, the influence of different cooling rates (5, 20, 50 and 100 °C/s) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Laser Metal Wire Deposited (LMwD) Ti-6Al-4V was investigated, this was done using a thermal-mechanical physical simulation system (Gleeble 3800, DSI). Two different soak times above β transus (held at 1100 °C), 5 and 40 s, were used and after cooling to 150 °C, the samples were tensile tested. READ MORE
