  1. 1. The Impact of Global Warming on Wind Power Potential in the Greater Horn of Africa

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Bromwel Apondi; [2023-08-17]
    Keywords : Near-surface wind speed; the Greater Horn of Africa; ERA5; Wind power density; CORDEX-Africa;

    Abstract : The wind speed variability and wind power potential in the Greater Horn of Africa is analyzed in this study to fill a knowledge gap regarding if wind power can be used more as a source of energy for the region. This is investigated based on reanalysis data from ERA5, observed wind speeds, CORDEX-Africa regional climate models (RCMs) for future projections and a literature review. READ MORE

  2. 2. Application of ERT for Quality Assurance in Jet Grouting Columns; A development of an alternative quality control

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk geologi; Lunds universitet/Väg- och vattenbyggnad (CI)

    Author : Edvin Nilsagård; Rebecka Knutsson; [2022]
    Keywords : ert; jet grouting; quality control; pygimli; res2dinv; resistivity; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : With the increased urbanization major cities are facing, expansion of larger facilities and households are inevitable. Expansion means larger areas of the surface needs to be used where the risk of varying subsurface soil properties increases with larger surface areas. READ MORE

  3. 3. CFD Study of An Office Room Equipped with Corner Impinging Jet Ventilation

    University essay from Högskolan i Gävle/Energisystem och byggnadsteknik

    Author : Getiye Wodaje; [2022]
    Keywords : CFD in ventilaion; Thermal comfort; Impinging jet ventilation; thermally stratified flow; Corner impinging jet; Office air quality; Indoor environment; turbulent jet;

    Abstract : A CFD validation study was made using corner supplied impinging jet ventilation operating in cooling mode. The air distribution system has two equilateral triangle shaped inlets placed 80cm above the floor at the two that share a common wall. The supply air was introduced at 2.26m/s. READ MORE

  4. 4. Comparing different methods of measuring particle size for pharmaceutical excipients

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Jiawen Wang; [2022]
    Keywords : particle size; comparison; Malvern analysis; Qicpic analysis; Pharmaceutical technology; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In pharmaceutical science, particle size is one of the most fundamental parameters of materials, but different particle-sizing analysis methods lack a uniform standard for measuring irregular particle size, making it difficult to compare the accuracy and applicability of different particle-sizing analysis methods. Experiments on excipients used in pharmaceuticals are carried out in this paper by laser diffraction analysis (Malvern wet and dry), dynamic image analysis (Qicpic), and microscopic methods (Qicpic, SEM, and light microscopy) to determine the applicability and limitations of each method, as well as to clarify their advantages and disadvantages. 5. 5. Studies of Dark Showers for Present and Future Colliders

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Nicoline Krogh Hemme; [2022]
    Keywords : high-energy particle physics; dark matter; collider physics; beyond the standard model; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this work we explore a strongly-interacting dark sector with a Z’ portal to the Standard Model. We focus on the dark shower phenomenology and their semi-visible jet signatures with a strong emphasis on first principles of the theory. READ MORE
