  1. 1. Complementarity of high energy and high intensity experiments for dark photon benchmarks

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Joshua Greaves; [2022]
    Keywords : Dark matter; LDMX; Dark photon; Complementarity; Snowmass; Relic density; Thermal relic; Relic abundance; Cross section; Constraints; Limits; Minimal models; Energy frontier; Intensity frontier; Madgraph; Madanalysis; Vector mediated; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Physical phenomena that are unexplained by the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics, are the subject of the area of research known as physics Beyond the Standard Model (BSM). BSM physics contains many Dark Matter (DM) theories which have emerged; from particles such as axions, neutrinos, and Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs), to primordial black holes and others. 2. 2. Micro-CT based finite element models for mechanical strength assessment of glass ceramic scaffolds obtained through the robocasting technique

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Author : Gustav Thessén; [2022]
    Keywords : µ-CT modelling; phase-field method; bio-glass scaffolds; strength assessment; Mikrotomografi; μ-CT; fasfältsmetoden; bio-glas stödstrukturer; brottgräns;

    Abstract : In this thesis, micro computed tomography (μ−CT) scans of a bio-glass scaffold produced by the robocasting technique was used to create finite element method (FEM) models with the purpose of determining its mechanical strength. Prior to this, a Matlab script was used to create several simplified geometries of the scaffold in an effort to determine the importance of scaffold design parameters (such as the fiber compenetration between two adjacent printing planes) on the strength of the scaffold. 3. 3. Agile Risk Management

    University essay from Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för informationsteknologi

    Author : Niklas Koskela; Carolina Aspfjäll; [2021]
    Keywords : Agile; Risk; Risk management; Scrum; SAFe; Scaled Agile Framework;

    Abstract : This thesis was done in collaboration with Volvo Cars to inspect their risk management process in light of their recent change to an agile way of working. The question was if their actual risk management differentiates from their directive and if the company could in any way improve their agile risk management. READ MORE

  4. 4. Studying American Football with Finite Element Analysis and Video Analysis

    University essay from KTH/Matematik (Avd.)

    Author : Daniel Sliwinski; [2021]
    Keywords : Medical Engineering; Helmet to Helmet impacts; Helmet to Ground impacts; Finite Element Analysis; Video Analysis; GHBMC; Maximum Principal Strain; American Football; Medicinsk teknik; Hjälm mot hjälm tackling; Hjälm mot mark tackling; Videoanalys; Finite Element analys; GHBMC; Maximum Principal Strain; Amerikansk fotboll;

    Abstract : Head injuries in American football is a serious issue regarding player health which is highly affected by velocity and its direction. Impact location can affect the severity of the head injury in both helmet-to-helmet impacts and helmet-to-ground impacts hence the understanding of concussive outcome from velocities and impact locations must be improved. 5. 5. Development of a method for estimation of contact fatigue life in hypoid gears

    University essay from KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Inst.)

    Author : Srigiripura Sahana Vittal; [2020]
    Keywords : Hypoid Gear; Rolling Contact fatigue; Fatigue life; FEM; Gear Contact life; Spalling; physical testing; fatigue analysis; Hypoidväxel; rullande kontaktutmattning; utmattningslivslängd; FEM; växelkontaktlivslängd; spalling; fysisk testning; utmattningsanalys;

    Abstract : Hypoid gears have been used extensively in automobiles, aerospace, marine and other applications for decades. The special advantages of hypoid gears come with inherent contact complexities of varying curvature and sliding in both profile and lengthwise direction. READ MORE
