  1. 16. Legacy effects of spring temperature anomalies on seasonal productivities in northern ecosystems

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Hanna Marsh; [2021]
    Keywords : Physical geography; Ecosystem analysis; Northern ecosystems; Legacy effects; Climate Change; Gross Primary Production; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Legacy effects of spring temperature anomalies on seasonal productivities in northern ecosystems Direct and lagged effects from spring temperature anomalies for the time-period 2001-2018 have been investigated for northern ecosystems (> 30°N). Three different data sets of Gross Primary Production (GPP) estimates (GOSIF, NIRvGPP and FLUX GPP) have been used in tandem with concurrent climate data to find significant correlations between spring growth and temperature anomalies and subsequent growing seasons. 2. 17. Detection of nitrous oxide through IR-DFWM in gas flows with future application in ammonia flames

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Martin Passad; [2021]
    Keywords : Physics; Optics; Lasers; Environment; Hydrogen; Hydrogen Energy; Ammonia Energy; DFWM; Ammonia; Nitrous Oxide; Ammonia Flame; Ammonia Combustion; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis report on an investigation into the applicability of mid-infrared degenerate four-wave mixing (IR-DWFM) as a method to detect N\(_2\)O in ammonia flames. DFWM has previously been used for concentration measurements on other molecules, but has never, to the author's knowledge, been applied to measure N\(_2\)O in ammonia flames before. READ MORE

  3. 18. Using embedded systems to optimize the care of indoor plants

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Anton Åbonde; Simon Salas Amnér; [2020]
    Keywords : Internet of Things; Embedded Systems; Sensors; Indoor Environment; Sakernas internet; Inbyggda system; Sensorer; Inomhusmiljö;

    Abstract : Over the last few years the interest in indoor plants has increased. Whether they are used for decorating, as mood boosters or sometimes as food in cooking, people want to come closer to nature by bringing it into their homes. However removing plants from their natural habitat could have negative implications on their well-being. READ MORE

  4. 19. Enhancing the degradation rate of microplastics and organizing a study visit about sustainability

    University essay from KTH/Lärande

    Author : Marianne Al-Ghorabi; [2020]
    Keywords : Accommodation; assimilation; Fenton reaction; microplastics; polypropylene; polystyrene; proximal development zone; study visit; visible light photocatalysis; zinc oxide nanorods; Ackommodation; assimilation; den proximala utvecklingszonen; Fenton reaktion; fotokatalys med synligt ljus; mikroplast; polypropalen; polystyren; studiebesök; zinkoxid nanorör.;

    Abstract : Microplastics take hundreds to thousands of years to degrade in nature, and pose a threat to the environment. A photocatalytical degradation method have been developed to take advantage of solar light to degrade microplastics, however it takes several months to degrade microplastics with the process. 5. 20. Naturlig föryngring av bok i södra Sverige – markberedning eller ej?

    University essay from SLU/School for Forest Management

    Author : Oscar Björklund; [2020]
    Keywords : bokskogsskötsel; kontinuitetsskogsbruk; ädellöv;

    Abstract : Syftet med studien var att studera och jämföra föryngringsmetoder som kan tillämpas när bokbestånd skall föryngras. En av metoderna är markberedning innan ollonfall. Markberedning har negativa konsekvenser som en ekonomisk utgift men även risken att ödelägga forn- och kulturlämningar ökar. READ MORE
