  1. 1. Adversarial robustness of STDP-trained spiking neural networks

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Karl Lindblad; Axel Nilsson; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Adversarial attacks on machine learning models are designed to elicit the wrong behavior from the model. One such attack on image classifiers are maliciously crafted inputs that, to the human eye, look untampered with but have been carefully altered to cause misclassification. READ MORE

  2. 2. Is eXplainable AI suitable as a hypotheses generating tool for medical research? Comparing basic pathology annotation with heat maps to find out

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Statistiska institutionen

    Author : Albert Adlersson; [2023]
    Keywords : black box; eXplainable AI XAI ; Convolutional Neural Network CNN ; Mi- crosatellite Instability MSI ; colon cancer; gastric cancer; hypotheses generating; hypotheses generating tool; medical research;

    Abstract : Hypothesis testing has long been a formal and standardized process. Hypothesis generation, on the other hand, remains largely informal. This thesis assess whether eXplainable AI (XAI) can aid in the standardization of hypothesis generation through its utilization as a hypothesis generating tool for medical research. READ MORE

  3. 3. Unsupervised Domain Adaptation for 3D Object Detection Using Adversarial Adaptation : Learning Transferable LiDAR Features for a Delivery Robot

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Mattias Hansson; [2023]
    Keywords : Unsupervised Domain Adaptation; 3D Object Detection; Mobile Robotics; Adversarial Adaptation; Computer Vision; Oövervakad Domänanpassning; 3D Objektigenkänning; Mobila Robotar; Motspelaranpassning; Datorseende;

    Abstract : 3D object detection is the task of detecting the full 3D pose of objects relative to an autonomous platform. It is an important perception system that can be used to plan actions according to the behavior of other dynamic objects in an environment. READ MORE

  4. 4. Estimation of dissolved organic carbon from inland waters using remote sensing data and machine learning

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Lasse Harkort; [2022]
    Keywords : dissolved organic carbon; machine learning; remote sensing; inland waters; water quality; open source data; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the first attempt to estimate Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) in inland waters over a large-scale area using satellite data and machine learning (ML) methods. Four ML approaches, namely Random Forest Regression (RFR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), and a Multilayer Backpropagation Neural Network (MBPNN) were tested to retrieve DOC using a filtered version of the recently published open source AquaSat dataset with more than 16 thousand samples across the continental US matched with satellite data from Landsat 5, 7 and 8 missions. 5. 5. Spiking Reinforcement Learning for Robust Robot Control Under Varying Operating Conditions

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Philipp Mondorf; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Over the last few years, deep reinforcement learning (RL) has gained increasing popularity for its successful application to a variety of complex control and decision-making tasks. As the demand for deep RL algorithms deployed in challenging real-world environments grows, their robustness towards uncertainty, disturbances and perturbations of the environment becomes more and more important.
