University essay from Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för teknik och samhälle (TS)

Abstract: The study assesses the influence certain individual factors have on reseller employees online purchasing behavior, after various UI alterations were implemented on a leading tech manufacturer’s web application. A total of 207 reseller employees, from 46 different countries, participated in an 8 week long within-subjects designed A/B test. By examining four different individual factors (age, gender, education/income and culture) and the participants usage analytics data, it was possible draw some pertinent conclusions as to how resellers are affected by UI alterations. The results confirm what have been largely theoretical ideas of linkages between reseller employees individual factors and online purchasing behavior. Correlations on gender and culture exist, and these can be explained and supported by the quantitative data collected.
