    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis was to investigate factors impacting employee engagement, with a focus on the recent increased trend of working remotely. We raised the question: How is the individual employee engagement impacted by the degree of remote work? Are the mediating factors gender, age, commuting time, number of adults and children in household and home office satisfaction related to employee engagement? We chose a quantitative research method to conduct an internet survey with a convenience sample (N = 138) where the survey was distributed to our connections on social media, primarily LinkedIn and Facebook, and two selected companies.
