  1. 1. Multi-Scale Topology Optimization of Lattice Structures Using Machine Learning

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad mekanik

    Author : Julia Ibstedt; [2023]
    Keywords : Topology optimization; Multi-scale topology optimization; Machine learning; Gaussian process; Homogenization; Inverse homogenization; Anisotropic materials; Symmetry groups; Material property space; Topologioptimering; Flerskalig topologioptimering; Maskininlärning; Gaussian process; Homogenisering; Anisotropa material; Symmetrigrupper; Materialegenskapsrymd;

    Abstract : This thesis explores using multi-scale topology optimization (TO) by utilizing inverse homogenization to automate the adjustment of each unit-cell's geometry and placement in a lattice structure within a pressure vessel (the design domain) to achieve desired structural properties. The aim is to find the optimal material distribution within the design domain as well as desired material properties at each discretized element and use machine learning (ML) to map microstructures with corresponding prescribed effective properties. 2. 2. Sublimation temperature prediction of OLED materials : using machine learning

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Analys och partiella differentialekvationer

    Author : Niklas Norinder; [2023]
    Keywords : Semiconductors; OLED; machine learning; vapor deposition; sublimation; molecular property prediction; regression; ensemble learning; deep learning;

    Abstract : Organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) are and have been the future of display technology for a minute. Looking back, display technology has moved from cathode-ray tube displays (CRTs) to liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Whereas CRT displays were clunky and had quite high powerconsumption, LCDs were thinner, lighter and consumed less energy. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Unsettlement of the Greek Property Regime and the Emergence of Vigilant Violence in Thessaloniki’s West End

    University essay from Malmö universitet/Institutionen för Urbana Studier (US)

    Author : Nikolaos Vrantsis; [2021]
    Keywords : Housing; Housing System; Property Regime; Loïc Wacquant; Pierre Bourdieu; Social Space; Symbolic Power; Field of power; Thessaloniki; Ksiladika; Vigilance; Vigilant violence; Neoliberalism
; State ;

    Abstract : The thesis inquires into the entanglement between the unsettlement of the Greek model of social reproduction that heavily relies on self-regulated property ownership and the emergence of vigilant violence on behalf of local property owners against undocumented migrants in the relegated neighborhood of Ksiladika in Thessaloniki’s West End. It probes the extent to which incidents of vigilant violence can be used as indicators of the structural deficiencies in the Greek housing system and property paradigm. READ MORE

  4. 4. Land in Limbo : property in land beyond the effective control of political authority along the Zambian railway

  5. 5. From Way Out West to Veg Out West - A study on changes to a key brand property and brand meaning negotiation on social media

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Graduate School

    Author : Jakob Obstfelder; Pär Gustafsson; [2019-07-03]
    Keywords : Brand meaning negotiation; Sign values; Social media; Identity creation;

    Abstract : Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the brand meaning negotiation process on social media, using the case of the Way out West brand that changed a key brand property in 2012. We aim to uncover dynamics and reasons for why and how the brand’s meaning has been negotiated, and the influence social media has had by expanding on previous research, most notably Giesler ( 2012 ) research findings on brand meaning negotiation.
